______________________________________________________________________________
-The old ruleset applies: the rolls are 1 to 100 even rolls are a success, uneven rolls are a failure.
-Characters are allowed 1 free action, but must otherwise stick to their movepools.
-Instead of VIRTUE and VICE, the adventurers have WILLPOWER and the midara have STAMINA.
-Encounters that use characters from the OpenRPG may cause a re-appearance of said midara, depending on outcome.

Paralyzed Status- Character will be unable to move next turn and will be unable to dodge the next attack

Charmed Status- The next attack dealt by the midara does +1 Willpower damage

Bind Status- Character will be unable to move and continually suffer 2 Willpower damage each turn unless they roll a 50 or higher and escape

Downed Status- Character's next action is skipped, allowing their opponent to attempt a follow-up

Dazed Status- Character must roll two successes instead of one in order to hit

Even rolls higher than 85 are considered critical and allows the attacker to follow up with another move

Odd rolls lower than 14 are critical failures, allowing the opponent's next attack to be a guaranteed success

Salem and Imite starts with 30 stamina and willpower.

The library was barely occupied during this time during the evening as people were more likely to attend other places of entertainment such as taverns and even a few less public 'activities'.  As such there were a scant few that would be event present in the library.  One of them was a fairly distinct person up to her chest full of books at her desks, separated into 3 neat tower of books.  Three books was before her and one was her personal notebook.

Salem was trying to cross-reference of her recent finding of a ruin a few weeks ago but was running low on information to cross-reference related to it and her leads was also running low.  As if these people was writing themselves out of history...or something destroyed them and kept quiet about it.  Either way it was enough to cause even the research-loving devil to sigh in brief frustration.  She took a moment to stretch out to loosen herself up, believing herself to be alone since that stretch would draw her attention to her ample chest more than necessary.

The doors of the library swung open and what appeared to be a woman quick stepped in, shutting the door behind her with a sigh of relief. That was certainly a close call. Who knew that she would be starting a tavern brawl over a few words and a few drinks? Needless to say, Imite needed to find some place a bit more quiet, which brought her to the library. It would probably be best that she alter her form a little, just to be safe.

As she rounded the shelf, her hair shifting from blonde to black, she came upon the sight of another. Odd, she didn't expect anyone else to be in the library at this time of day, nevermind someone so...gifted. Lest she be caught staring, she hastily backed around the corner, though if their eyes met, the other might have noticed Imite's eyes suddenly going from blue to green when she approached.

The sound of the doors opening and closing did caught her attention somewhat and she ended up stop stretching as she resettle to her chair back in proper posture before her mismatched eyes moved towards the door, finding the time of the arrival was a bit out of place but not unusual to her.  She mentally chuckled as the girl's blue eye was briefly staring at her-

Wait was it blue or green...it was green but she could have sworn she saw blue. She chalked at the possibility of her mental fatigue.  But the newcomer kept shuffling around the area of the library making it semi-hard to focus on her that same shuffling is what is making Salem curious of her.

Imite breathed a sigh of relief. That would have been a troublesome encounter if the other pressed the matter of her staring. Regardless, she had to lie low here in the library until the ruckus about the tavern calmed, so she figured she might as well make use of where she was.

She went through the shelves, trying to keep as little attention on her as possible. Not that the task was incredibly difficult; there seemed to be only one other person here. Ah, there it was. The section on monsters and myths. Perhaps she could find a new form here. She reached to grab a book with a red cover. An encyclopedia on the more demonic forms of midara? Interesting. She didn't expect a book like this to be in a public library. Then again, she couldn't argue the usefulness of such knowledge. She opened it up and began looking through it's contents where she stood.

No longer paying attention to the newcomer, she looks down at the cross-referencing once more on her notes and what could have made these people vanish. During her visitation, her first guess was something they done caused them to wipe themselves out but further research refuted that just through the signs. However that was all that was written by them. There would have been a scarred land if it was an attack by some else.

Another possibility would be monsters as they would be more natural. She didn't rule out midaras as a possibility but only a more extreme behaved one would actually go through the trouble of destroying a civilization unless a grudge or feud was involved. Even midaras are not immune to desire for retributions. However she does need to research on signs of potential candidate and that requires a compendium.

Having recall the library index, she rise from her chair and stride towards the index where the compendium is which happens to be the same area that Imite was reading though she did not take notice of Imite there yet since she was still taking her time walking there, low heels clopping lightly against the floor of the library.

Quite an interesting read, this one. Who knew that archfiends held such power and influence in these times? That would make for quite an interesting form to take and she had all the knowledge she needed to learn it. She stood there and concentrated on this information, but flinched when she heard the clopping of heels. Granted, it wasn't a very loud noise, but even the slightest lapse in concentration would put a halt on her progress. She quickly attempted to compose herself as to not raise any suspicion from the reaction.

Her mind starts looping through various candidate and mentally crossing them out that didn't fit the signs that she witness which includes various sentient species, not just midaras. Lamia, no there was no compressed skeleton due to being squeezed, manticore is a no due to lack of tail spikes, slime would not have generated so much mess. Hellkins are a possibility but there were quite a lot of them. Perhaps she need to-

She pauses for a moment, the hell clopping stop as her tall frame cast a shadow at the next bookshelf not contains the various bestiary books but it also contains a curious Imite seemingly intensely looking over a book. A cursory glance over the title causes her brows to rise. Why would she be interested in something like that?

Deciding not to interrupt her and to try to minimize the sound of her footstep as her heels do generate noise naturally. She steps within the same isle before her mismatched blue/red eyes darts back and forth in the titles of the stored books.

The fact that the other was in the same aisle meant that Imite needed to act casual and calm. It did not help that the book she was reading wasn't something that people commonly took a look into, but she wasn't about to give up taking a new form from what she was reading.

She was going to make another attempt at analyzing when she heard the door of the library open. Two men, likely from the city watch entered and spoke with the librarian, probably asking if she had seen a woman fitting the description Imite was previously assuming. She didn't have much to fear; her changed appearance made sure of that, but one could never be too careful.

Imite closed the book and put it back in its place on the shelf before starting to move to the next aisle. If they started searching for her, she didn't want to be seen reading books so...controversial.

Her ears catches the noise of the door of the library open before the local enforcers says asking question to the librarian and caught the description of the one that was entering the room before...her red/blue eyes darts over to the figure that was starting to move to another isle before a brief smile crosses her lips.

She slips on her bandana briefly before they spotted are and approaches her. She figure they were looking for the one she saw before and it seems that she altered her appearance somehow. However she simply shakes her head as she has not but have heard someone head out the backdoor just moments. They thank her for the time before they went out towards the back.

Imite had moved over to the next aisle and looked to be browsing the shelves as the men passed by her, heading to the back. Odd. Maybe someone had tipped them off? Either way, she sighed softly in relief that they weren't going after her. Still, that was somewhat worrying. Her tracks might not have been as covered as she thought.

Regardless, she had to keep the facade up. She picked a random book off the shelf and acted as if she was reading it, hoping that was the last she'd see of the city watch.

"Well that was a close cut." She muttered to herself as she lifted the bandana off of her though able to slip it on later on if needed, making sure that they are partially over her horns. "Ara ku lak sai." She makes a small incantation before pointing towards the door. The latch for the backdoor set in place so that they cannot double back in. Beside backdoor is generally closed off for non-employees. She wasn't a fan of incantation type spells but it does have its uses for quick utilities.

"So why would they look for her for?" The her seems to be referring to Imite glancing towards the isle before shrugging and slipping out the rather massive book that seems to cover a huge variety of different creates that roam the land she is looking for.

Imite sighed in disinterest as she looked through the text she was reading. Geology might have been of particular note to someone else, but it was so boring to her. She put the book back on its shelf before doubling back to the isle she was before.

There was that woman again and this time with a rather sizable text. Perhaps she was an intellectual of sorts? Imite went and found the book she was reading before. As she glanced towards the woman and then back to the pages, she weighed her options. Should she try and copy her form? She would likely be caught staring if she did...if the woman hadn't noticed the one or two glances Imite cast her way.

Although she continues to peruse the bestiary tome, the purple themed devil has been keeping track of the other woman in the room ever since the incident with the guard asking about her and she notices the brief glances that seem a bit too frequent for just idle curiosity. She hasn't even bother looking from the tome that she is carrying before she inquires. "Is there something you need of me?" It was then that she actually looks up at Imite with an inquisitive red-blue eyed gaze.

Well, that answered those concerns. Imite shifted her glance fully from whatever text she had and looked over at the woman who addressed her.
For a little too long without giving an answer, perhaps. Long enough for her to get a firm grasp on the other's form. After an uncomfortable amount of staring, she finally responded. "I don't. Not anymore, at least. Thank you." She replied with a pleasant smile, betraying her unusual behavior around the other. Though what she was thanking Salem for was far from apparent.

Salem's suspicion stirred when the woman was intently staring and it isn't just because of her shapely form either as she has seen those stares before. Did she notices what she was from observation? She wasn't sure if this individual would say something to others about her being though. "Thank you? For what exactly?" Her brows quirked as she herself stare at Imite, more exactly into her eyes, almost locking both of their gazes together.

((Let's see who blinks first!))

Despite both of their gazes locking, Imite kept her smile up as the other spoke to her. Should she really answer that question? This woman could report her to the town watch if she gave away hints to who she was. Then again, they were just here and missed her entirely. Perhaps she could afford to be coy. "Why, for your form, of course." She finally answered, if not vaguely so.

(The staring contest begins.)

Her form?  She broke this out into a few interpretation.  Her femininity, her actual body.  She wasn't exactly catching glances downward right now as she is staring directly into her eyes (something Salem finds rather interesting and fun so that leaves...

Then it hits her.  That change in appearance at the appearance was not a trick of play.  This woman can change form and perhaps imitate them on observation.  Interesting.  "Oh?  Is there something about my form that you like, that you find appealing?"  She added leaning a bit forward while crossing her arms over her well-developed chest, not breaking eye-contact.  Though, her tone seems merely inquisitive, she left many ways to fill in the lines.

Imite giggled at the question. Yes, what she said certainly was up to many interpretations, but so was the question the other just posed. Imite's favorite kind of question in fact. "You mean besides your excellent figure?" She replied in a teasing manner, smirking slightly. She may not have been staring further down, but that didn't mean she didn't notice. "Maybe I just find your capabilities interesting."

"Oh?  My capabilities?  What do you think I am capable of doing?  "  She asked amused while placing a hand on her hips, while maintaining her gaze within Imite's eyes.  She decided to ask Imite's curiosity right back, wondering how much does she know and what did she take, exactly.  What a curious being!

Imite giggled again at the question. To her, it wasn't so much a matter of thinking as it was about knowing. "Oh, but where should I start? Your channeling? Your seduction techniques?" She leaned in closer to meet Salem's gaze. "Just how much do you want me to flatter you?"

Heh she knows quite a lot about her then. However, she herself wants to know about this person that had copied her and gain knowledge about her form. "Well I think that would be enough about me, tell me of yourself."

"Oh, me?" Imite questioned in mock surprise. Naturally, she wasn't surprised. One would get curious about someone cryptically borrowing the form of another. "There isn't much to tell you. I am but a humble wanderer in search of interesting people such as yourself." She put her hands behind her back. "As for why...well, what's a shapeshifter without a shape to shift to?"

"A base form that is probably cute? Of course I won't ask you about that if you do not want to but a little bit about yourself wouldn't hurt, wouldn't it? Even with others form, there is bound to be interesting things of you. Care to entertain a little devil like me?"

Subtle Suggestion- Deal 1 willpower damage. Can be used outside of battle without detection but can only be used twice in an event.
(2)

The request seems relatively reasonable as she isn't asking for her deepest secret, just hobbies.

Imite looked thoughtful for a moment. "Are you curious about my base form? It's been a long time since I've assumed that. It's not exactly something I show to just anyone, but maybe I can be convinced otherwise." Why not tempt the devil while she was at it? "That would depend on what you consider interesting, though. I could go at length about the little things I've done to get the city watch's attention..." That would explain the guards from earlier. "...or the bigger things like "replacing" people. Where should I start, I wonder?"

"Of course, whether you want to or not is up to you.  But...what would it take to convince you?"  Salem asks inquisitively.  She will at least hear what she wants as well as pick her mind a bit.  "As for the things, you've done.  Probably as interesting.  But..."  She glances around the are a bit, the library while a place of solitude is also a public place.  "...I don't think you want to share your 'achievements' with me here."  Salem is pretty sure this one tends to skirt away from the law.
