Worth a Thousand Words

Awoken in the epicenter of a strange, unfamiliar castle's main hall. The windows were large, stained glass images depicting regality, love, lust, and nature respectively, with six doors in total in the room, not including the apparent entrance. This empty room is laced with an eerie vibe that can't be shaken. What to do, what to do...

Lucan got to his feet groggily and rubbed his eyes, once he was suitably lucid, the gambler moved to inspect each door for any detail

"Where on earth am I?" He wondered under his breath

Each door was carved and polished smoothly with images reminiscent of the stained glass windows above them, with the exceptions of the two doors that bore now window and what Lucan could only see as being the entrance, though inspection upon that entryway would reveal the door as locked.

"Huh, locked?" Should've known, "ah well, only one way to decide where next" Lucan pulled out a six sided dice and rolled it, (3). Upon seeing the result, Lucan moved to the third door

Opening the door led to a circular room connected to the main hall via a long hallway. Within this room hung several paintings of women of various body tones and shapes with differing focuses. One would focus on a woman's naked cleavage, smothering a man between it, another would depict a more lithe-framed yet entrancing woman planting a deep kiss upon the lips of a lover, and so on and so forth. Not every painting was as clear cut, however, as there were some that seemed to blend with the simpler ones, though with clear signs of their own focus. Some focused on what a woman's body could do, others focused on what a woman could wear, etc.

Lucan felt naturally drawn to the ones that captured his underlying lusts, yet at the same time, it made him draw away, to recognize what dangers these paintings could pose...somehow...

Lucan looked around the room, checking for anything of note.
"So, I've almost certainly been brought here by a Midara..." He though aloud before moving to inspect the painting of the woman kissing her lover

The inspection went about as well as a cursory glance, as a close observation merely allowed to features of the woman in the painting to cement themselves in his mind. However, after a moment of looking, Lucan noticed a slight shimmer in the painting, as if the canvas has rippled like the surface of a lake. Was he seeing things?

Lucan slowly reached out to touch the painting

"Some kind of portal?" He wondered

His hand slipped right through the painting as if it was water. Pulling it out showed it dry, of course and completely unaffected. It wasn't entirely clear what was on the other side though.

Lucan was always a man with more curiosity then common sense, as is the way with most gamblers. Realising it was the most clear path to continue down, he attempted to climb through the painting

He climbed in, finding no resistance whatsoever. He heard a very nostalgic tune the moment he full climbed through the painting. (Three guesses as to what) When next he looked upon the world around him, he was in a cold, snow-covered land with rolling hills, pine trees, and a small house on the top of the tallest hill.

Immediately shivering from the sudden cold, Lucan resumed to head towards the house. "It's probably a trap... But it's better than freezing out here"

As he headed for the hill, the wind picked up and blew loose snow around, obscuring his vision and pushing him around. As he continued to persist, there was a faint voice calling out to him to turn back.

Lucan faltered for a minute in the blizzard, he looked around trying to find the source of the voice

It was hard to discern exactly where as the disorientation slowly stripped his sense of direction. As he tried to find the voice, he felt his body start to sting from the blistering cold. The one sign of where he was going was the uplift of the hill he stood on.

Realising he'd be in more danger if he wasted time,Lucan decided to press on

As he continued onward, the winds continued to roar, seemingly blowing him in the direction of thw house. The soft lamplight illuminating the porch broke through the blizzard, guiding him to shelter.

"definitely a trap" Lucan thought to himself, looking for any alternate routes

He could head back through the blizzard and try to find the voice that urged him to turn back. Then there was some space around the house that would allow him to look around.

Lucan, though perhaps it was unwise, decided to turn around and head back down, though perhaps not ideal, he could find the source of the warning and maybe find some limited shelter among the pine trees

The moment he turned back, the storm kicked up with twice as much strength, throwing them gambler off her balance too many times to make any swift progress.

"I'll be damned if Im turning around again" Lucan gritted his teeth as he attempted to press on

He stubbornly continued, being thrown into the snow again and again, barely gaining any distance from the house. As he tried to make it out, he started to feel sleepy, losing consciousness steadily.

With one last effort, the gambler began to call it "hello? Anyone?" Hoping to draw the attention of the voice that warned him earlier

He could faintly hear the voice call back to him, but he was slowly falling asleep. Just before falling unconscious, he caught sight of a pair of large white foxes.
When next he woke up, he was cast in a thick blanket in an oddly well-furnished burrow.
