Quell is an 18 year old boy who left his home to fulfill his dream of becoming a legendary hero, branding his name into history books for all time. Unfortunately, he lacks any of the confidence or bravado needed to succeed in such a roll. While he is capable, he ultimately becomes too timid when fighting enemies to actually fulfill his duties, even if he enters the fight really psyched up. Against midara, this results in him being extremely submissive. He is especially susceptible to any sort of seduction or dominating technique. He often finds himself agreeing to their attempts at putting him down, making anything of the sort far more effective.
Appearance
While his appearance is ultimately up to the player, by default he has dark brown, unkept hair that can just barely reach his fearful, green eyes. He is fit and somewhat muscular, which is often downplayed due to his skinny frame. He wears a traditional traveler's garb, with a leather shirt, a tattered cloak and tough pants. He stands at a mere 5'9''.
On his person, he has general tools for exploring such as a flask, and a dagger that he uses for self defense.
Stats
Weakness: Kissing
Unrelated to his personality, he also has a fetish for being kissed, increased even further by lipstick. He takes 1 extra point of wp on kiss based attacks, doubled if lipstick is left on him and all kiss based attacks apply charmed. If he was already charmed, or if the attack can apply it already, he becomes dazed instead.
Weakness: Unconfident
Quell is very timid. This makes him easy prey for any all midara that would want him.
The following status effects are stronger against him:
Charmed: Gives advantage to enemy hits.
Fascinated: He fails the roll automatically.
Bind: Disadvantage on struggle rolls.
(Homebrew status effects may also get bonuses at the DM's discretion.)
He also takes 1wp more damage from any attack that attempts to put him down, usually by insulting him or trying to make him submit to his attacker. When he gets to below 30wp, all seduction based attacks also make him off-balance.
Skills
Psyche Up
Quell tries to give himself a confidence boost, for the next hit, the effects of "Unconfident" are negated.
Basic Slash
Quell does a simple slash with his dagger. Deals 2 damage.
Power Slash
A slash with his dagger that has a lot of force behind it. Deals 3 damage and puts the target off balance. Missing puts him off balance, while crit failures make him trip and cause him to be stunned.
Fading Swipe
Quell swipes in front of him with his dagger and leaps backwards. This attack deals 1 damage and creates distance between Quell and his opponent.
Subdue
Quell restrains an off-balance or willing target, binding them. Often has negative consequences for him due to being so close to the midara, and will automatically charm him.
Headbutt
Only usable when very close to the target. Quell headbutts his opponent, dealing 2 damage and dazing them. This is the only offensive move Quell can use while restaining an opponent.
Beg
Only usable if Quell is noticeably losing the battle. Quell begs his opponent for mercy, lowering their damage by 1 for 2 turns on success. On critical success, their damage is lowered by 2, and on critical failure, their damage is increased by 1. Alternatively, this move can be used to ask for a specific move to be performed, in which case a success means the opponent is forced to use it.
Leg Sweep
Quell swipes his leg through the opponents. This deals 4 damage and forces off balance. If the target is already off balance, it stuns them instead and leaves them vulnerable on the ground. If he misses however, he is instead stunned and left vulnerable on the ground, right in front of his opponent.
Pin
Quell pins a prone target to the ground, binding them and allowing him to perform any punching move. It also charms Quell and makes any successful attempt at sweet talking him inflict fascination.
Knock-out Punch
Quell moves in for a powerful, although highly telegraphed, punch. Deals 3 damage and inflicts daze. Disadvantage to hit, but can be used on pinned opponents to guarantee a hit.
Timid Slap
Quell tries to break out of any adverse mental effects on him, slapping his opponent in an emotional daze. Deals 1 damage and cleanses charm and daze, while giving immunity to fascination for the rest of the turn.
