Hidden within the shadows, secretly manipulating various people behind the scenes are a group known to only a few as Daraku. There objectives are unclear, and their means involve something to do with corruption. At the head of the organisation, there are four seats. The four leaders of the group: Kathrynne, Jennifer, Gwenivere and Zara.
Daraku Global Effects:Corruption: Once corruption stacks reach 10, the target becomes corrupted, and must fight for the other side. Whilst corrupted, target will take double damage from any source. Corruption stacks cannot be removed easily, and it is nigh impossible to remove them during combat. Exceptions to this are at GM discretion.
The (Former) Fourth Seat - Lady Kathrynne Rowan - The Face of DarakuMoveset:Willpower AttacksCorrupting Touch: (Ability Sealed - Replaced with
Tantalizing Touch)
A slight brush of her hand is enough to bombard her target with the desire to let the darkness in.
Deals 3 willpower damage, and adds 1 Corruption stack to target. On a crit, deals 5 willpower damage and adds 2 Corruption stacks (on top of the usual crit effect).
Tantalizing Touch:Though no longer as corrupting as before, it is now more enjoyable. The desire to give in to darkness shifting to simply wishing to give in to Kathrynne.
Deals 5 willpower damage.
Hypnotic Gaze:Her eyes begin to glow with a tantalising light, making what she is saying sound entirely reasonable. Maybe giving in would be easier?
Deals 4 willpower damage, and inflicts Charm on target. Can be used whilst bound, and at range.
Graceful Offering: (Ability Sealed - Replaced with
Pleasurable Offering)
A small orb of dark energy begins to hypnotise the opponent, making them wish for the dark power that is held within.
Deals 2 willpower damage, and adds 2 Corruption stacks to target.
Pleasurable Offering:Kathrynne concentrates her essence into an orb, and sends it floating hypnotically towards her target.
Deals 2 willpower damage and inflicts Stun on her target. On a crit, deals an 5 willpower damage, and inflicts Stun and Charm on her target.
The (Former) Third Seat - Jennifer - The Body of DarakuPassive(s)Magic Resistance: All magic based attacks deal 1 less damage to Jennifer.
Pure Body, Unpure Mind: Jennifer is fast to recover from what ails her. At the beginning of a turn in which she has a physical status effect (stun, bind, etc) she may attempt a roll to lose that status effect for free. If she succeeds, she takes her turn as normal. Conversely, to remove any mental based status effects (charm, dazed, etc), Jennifer takes disadvantage.
Moveset:Stamina AttacksCorrupting Fist:Jennifer focuses her dark power into her fist, striking her opponent, and forcing the corruption into them directly.
Deals 5 stamina damage, inflicts Stun, and adds 1 Corruption stack to her opponent.
Flurry of Blows:Jennifer seems to stand perfectly in place as she sends out a shockwave of energy. To the trained eye, it becomes apparent that she is attacking everyone close to her with a series of different attacks.
Roll 3 times. Deals 2 stamina damage, and 1 Corruption stack, to each opponent close to her for each success rolled. Crits are only counted on the first roll. A crit fail ends the attack instantly, on top the usual crit fail effect. A crit success means maximum damage, and stuns those hit by it (with no additional effect).
Fireball:After an encounter with a sorcerer that specialised in fire magic, Jennifer got a taste for the stuff, and decided to experiment with it.
All targets (including allies) within a large area must roll. On a failure, they take 4 stamina damage. On a success, they take 2 stamina damage. On a crit success, they take no damage. And on a crit failure, they take 4 damage and catch fire (1 damage per turn, until they spend an action to put it out, with no roll required).
Lance of Force:Jennifer focuses her magic on a particular enemy, and strikes with a beam of concentrated force. Deals 7 stamina damage. Usable once every 5 rounds.
Abundent Strike:Jennifer teleports around the room, striking each target with a spinning kick, seemingly coming from nowhere. Roll for each opponent. Deals 2 stamina damage, adds 1 Corruption stack, and gives them disadvantage on their next action.
Miscellaneous ActionsDispel Magic:Jennifer is a master of removing magical effects. Once every 4 rounds, Jennifer can dismiss a magical effect, or counter magical spells, for free. Any additional dismissals of magic take up her action for her turn.
The Second First Seat - Gwenivere Collbard - The Mind of DarakuPassive(s)Aura of Haze: Unless concentrating on not affecting someone, Gwenivere passively invades all nearby minds, making it harder for them to focus. Every turn, all characters must roll to remain focused. On a critical success, they are immune for the next turn. On a success, nothing happens. On a failure, they lose 1 willpower. On a critical failure, they lose 1 willpower and take disadvantage on the next roll.
Never Surprised: When Gwenivere is in combat, she cannot be taken by surprise by someone she considers an enemy, as she is aware of the mental presence of those in the room.
Mind Reader: Outside of combat, Gwenivere can use this ability to determine the intent of a group, or ask a specific question to a person and get an honest answer, whether they verbalise it or not.
Moveset:Willpower AttacksAll Eyes on Me:Gwenivere clears her throat, and begins to slowly walk towards her target, swaying as she does. The target's thoughts fill with ideas of what she could be planning.
Deals 3 willpower damage to her target, and 1 willpower damage to all who see her. Adds 1 Corruption stack to her target.
Feign Harm:Gwenivere targets the most primal of instincts in the minds of the heroic. The need to protect someone who looks hurt. She twists their perception of events to make their allies seem like the enemy of good.
Forces the target to attack the last person to hurt Gwenivere. Cannot be used on the last attacker. Requires 1 Corruption stack. Gwenievere must be on 3/4 health or less to use this ability.
Depraved Desires:Follow-up to All Eyes on Me. Gwenivere gets a read on her target, seeming to know exactly what it is that they want, and precisely what images flashed through their head. She closes the remaining distance and kisses her target, slipping her tongue gently into their mouth. As she does, she floods their mind with all the things that she could give them, if they were to just give in, and let her in.
Deals 6 willpower damage, inflicts Charm, and adds 2 Corruption stacks onto her target.
Fall For Me:Having sufficiently corrupted her target, Gwenivere decides to give them a taste of what it will be like to serve her. She blows a kiss their way, focusing the aura of haze to form a pair of lips that floats towards her target. A very dangerous attack, if it hits.
The target temporarily falls to her side. At the end of their turn, they may roll to escape her control, but until then, they see her as their ally, and their previous allies as their enemies. If they succeed, their next attack against Gwenivere automatically hits, as she doesn't see it coming. Requires 4 Corruption stacks.
Mirror Mirror:Gwenieverre forces her image into the target's head with such precision that they start to see and hear multiple copies of her all around.
This summons 2-4 copies of Gweniverre. Whenever the target attacks Gweniverre, there is only a 1 in X+1 chance they will hit, where X is the number of remaining copies. If they hit a copy, it disappears, and Gweniverre takes no damage. If they hit Gweniverre, all the copies disappear. There may never be more than 4 copies of Gweniverre at any one time.
Narcissist:There are few things that Gweniverre loves more than herself. If she has at least one copy of herself, then two of the Gweniverre's begin to make out with each other, shooting longing looks towards their target, and inviting them to join her.
Deals the target 3 willpower damage, 1 Corruption stack, and binds them. For every turn they are bound, they take 3 willpower damage and gain 1 Corruption stack. When they escape, all copies of Gweniverre disappear.
If there are at least 3 copies of Gweniverre, this attack has advantage, deals an additional 2 willpower damage and 1 Corruption stack (on the attack and the bind effect). Additionally, they must escape twice. The first time they succeed in an escape attempt, 2 copies of Gweniverre disappear, and the bind is treated as the above.
Perverting Fate:When things are not going Gweniverre's way, she doesn't accept reality, and instead forces her target to accept hers. Once per combat, she may change the target's willpower to match her stamina/willpower. She may only do this if her target has 4 Corruption stacks.
Mental Overload:Though she prefers not to, sometimes brute force is required to win the fight. And the only thing that Gweniverre hates more than using brute force is losing. She forces a large quantity of useless information into her targets head, dealing them 6 willpower damage, and stunning them. Only usable if she has less stamina/willpower than her target has willpower.
The (Former) First Seat - Zara Seafield - The Soul of DarakuPassive(s)Pleasure and Pain, One and the Same: All willpower damage is converted into stamina damage (in the form of exhaustion) and all stamina damage is converted into willpower damage
Affliates of DarakuJane Spearcrow (Former)Sir Victus DuMort (Former)Jennifer's SeductressesGentle Kiss:Deals 2 willpower damage.
Distracting Flash:Inflicts Fascination status. (Disadvantage on all attacks not made again her).
Gwenivere's MuscleSlash/Slam:Deals 2 stamina damage.
