A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 Empty

"Well I know the first one is true because you would not have brought it up if it was not true and hurt Ix's feelings or at least create an awkward situations. I also know that you staffs as we were conversing about our personnel a while ago. Now the question is if the staffs were maids and butlers or other types of personnel. From what I can figure is that is either you had known your parents but either thing didn't go so well or you do not know little about them, that leaves you raised by your servants.

Now there is a possibility that the reverse may be true that you did not know your parents and that you were not raised by your servants but I had little correlation to go by for that scenario."

That is the first scenario matches her expression better. She noted silently.

Kathrynne wasn't sure about Ix's answer. She thought she'd been careful with her inflections. But Luna's explanation made sense. She hadn't considered that, had she been lying about Ix being her first real love, that bringing it up would have been awkward. After all, Ix was already aware that she'd had many 'lovers' in the past. But love and 'love' were two entirely different ballparks. She nodded at the pair, before turning to Ix, awaiting her turn. After all, she felt that her answers now were rather self-explanatory.

"My turn again huh..." She started to think her options "Mmm..." This time she took a bit longer to decide "I never met my father..." She started, without knowing that, that choice itself was a lie "I have three sisters..." She continued "And... Mmm... I never had weird thoughts about Kath..." She blushed slightly on this last one.

The expression and the position of that last phrase seems to be a give away but before she jumps into conclusion she tries to think on the choices.  Sadly she didn't know much about Ix to really make any deduction on that details except for the lack of more notable reaction.  She noted that Xana is one of the sister and Ix mention another named Dixi so that is three.  There is a possible another but it is the likely true scenario.  Again she thinks on the last one and how Kathrynne seems to subtly dotes on Ix and how she is trying to conceal it.  Again, she ends up marking this one as most probably just because she observes the most details on that area followed by two more fact that she put it at the end like the last time.

"Not having weird thought about Kathrynne." Is it the best answer she can think of but she would not be surprised if that is wrong and that Ix is much better than this that she gives her credit.

Kathrynne instantly knows which answer is the correct one, but takes the time to, instead, consider letting her have the victory. These thoughts are pushed aside as she thinks about which answer she would call out as a lie. It then occurred to Kathrynne that Ix hadn't really spoken much about her family, outside of Zara. She vaguely recalled something about Ix saying that she'd received her sword from her father, or was it adopted father, but she couldn't remember. She seemed to get a little lost in her train of thought until it was interrupted by Luna answering with what she thought was the correct answer, and she realised that she hadn't responded yet.

A smile grows on her face.
"I certainly hope it is the last one." She responded with a tone that was much more reminiscent of how she usually talked to Ix, right before she begin to tease her. But she took a moment to realise that, in fact, they were in a public place, and not alone, so held back from going any further. "Right, yes. I think the last one is a lie."

Still blushed but smiled "You two got it right..." She stopped for a moment "It's true, I never met my father... I can't really remember much from the time me and my sisters were one, the one who could remember a bit more is Xana..." She explained "I'm pretty sure you remember me mentioning how I got my sword but this was a gift from my adoptive father, not my real one." She clarified to Kathrynne.

"About the four sisters, well... Even if Alter don't want to be considered like that, I love her like a sister and so I consider her one, she's basically Dixi's twin." She explains chuckling.

"And well... Y-Yeah, t-the last one is self-explanatory..." She finished blushing a bit more.

Adoptive father, real one, sisters were as one. Ix seems to have quite a tale within herself. She doesn't inquire yet though not to interrupt the two speaking to each other. It was then that she waited them to finish and give their indication that they were done that she starts her turn. She had already prepared her next set of facts as they were conversing.

"I am not a midara. I am not physically strong. I do not like carrots." She lays out the truths and lies with a smile to them. Luna decided to add another factor with a negative inserted into the set, combine with the fact that has more to do with not of her personality but of her nature.

PostSubject: Re: A Touch of Moonlight   A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 EmptyTue Oct 16, 2018 6:25 am

Kathrynne thought on the options. This was a tricky one. First, she considered the midara option. She certainly bore the appearance of one. The ears seemed like a dead giveaway. It was possible, but improbable, they were illusions. Surely no-one who wanted to appear proper would give themselves such adorable ears... Let's put that thought aside for now.

The strength. The stamina required to be a musician was certainly substantial, but that did not require strength. And being specialised in illusion magic seemed to match up with this. It seemed rather likely this was true. Then again, she was an operative.

The carrots. It was impossible to tell without process of elimination. But given how likely the first one appeared, it was either a joke or a takeout. This made it the second most likely in Kathrynne's eyes.

"I'm going to guess that you ARE a midara." Kathrynne responded, after considering for some time.

A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Touch of Moonlight   A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 EmptyTue Oct 16, 2018 6:32 am

Unlike Kathrynne, Ix had some advantage over this one, since she readed a lot of books about different races, thanks to the music display from before she was able to distinguish her as a moon rabbit and not a midara "You are a moon rabbit right? That's why you have that little moon above your head, which means you are not a midara."

About her strengh, she was an illusions, she didn't really knew how strong could she be, but if she used to be a soldier, she should had at least some strenght right? But again, an illusionist forte isn't the melee combat and her figure pretty much confirmed that "I'm going to guess that the second one is truth as well, based on your physique..."

PostSubject: Re: A Touch of Moonlight   A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 EmptyWed Oct 17, 2018 4:56 pm

In hindsight, the second information is rather easy as she pretty much looks the part of someone that isn't physically oriented despite her military background. Even her melee weapon is a polearm that it uses different physics for its power instead of physical strength. The midara question is a tricky one and is a good trap which Kathrynne fell for especially due to her "cute" appearance. However it is Ix that surprised her, not because she chose that as true but because she knew exactly what Luna is.

"Hmm, I never knew that there is anyone that knows what I am. We aren't exactly plentiful around the world and from what I can tell, I am the only one in this particular region as we tend to congregate closer to our home."

She looks down at herself for a moment. "I suppose that my lack of physical strength may have been more explanatory as I am rather small discounting the height of my ears and rabbits usually aren't renown for strength, more-so quickness.

"As for disliking carrots being a lie, I do enjoy it many times along with many different other vegetables and some fruit. But contrary to popular beliefs, I am not crazy for it, I am more of a radish person myself. Worth noting that eating too much carrots and many other fruits is going to cause a sugar rush." She allows the other two to imagine her calm self becoming hyperactive.

Ix chuckled slightly at the hyperactivity comment "Well, you know my sister, she has a lot of book and from time to time, when I'm really bored, I borrow a few of them, one of them being a book about moon rabbits, what caught my attention the most was the small moon..." She explained "So as soon as I saw it, I knew you were one."

Kathrynne was rather surprised at the response from Luna, but was perhaps more surprised by Ix.
"Well, I'm certainly impressed." Kathrynne commented, with a smile.

The thought of a hyperactive Luna made Kathrynne raise an amused eyebrow. Of course, the cake collection she'd ordered was rather high in sugar. At that thought, she decided to take another little cake, but left the carrot cake alone. Just in case.

"If you don't mind me asking, what IS a moon rabbit?" Kathrynne asked, curiously.

That is a bit of a tough question as if also questioning what is a midara or what is a human to one.

"We a fairly reclusive race of rabbits that lives off to the south region of the world. Though the name may not be indicative as it sounds, we do not live on the moon, rather a lot of our civilization is more based off of them and moon rabbits does though rarely develop natural talents that involve it. However, like any other skill, it has to be trained since the knowledge of how to use said talents are not innate.

That would be a somewhat general description of us, is there anything other questions you wish to ask of me?" She takes a carrot cake and fork cuts a think piece to help herself a bit while waiting for the inquiry of the others.

Kathrynne listened with interest. She had never travelled to the other regions of the world. Sure, she had thoroughly explored the region she had lived in, but she preferred to never stray too far from her own manor. After all, it was sometimes useful to call upon her established resources, and her teleportation magic was not so refined to call upon her things from vast distances.

"What is it like in the South?" Kathrynne asked, curiosity striking her features.

"As one of the speakers for IDOL (primary but Luna doesn't think herself so), I tend to go to many different kingdoms, governments, and civilization. From the Eastern countries with a rather spiritual outlook on everything to Sanctuary. Even some of the local group of people that are more tribal but the culture is just as enriched, containing aspects that tends to be lost as population grows. It is why I decided to move so far.

As for the south of where I once lived. It is a lovely region though the mountainous region tends to do two things. It creates a bit of a natural barrier both from going in and out of the region so it is one of the reason why there is very few that migrate from or to the region. It also creates a divide in climate due to how humidity on the wind works. On one side of the mountain you can have a rainforest and on the other side is a dry shrub-lands."

"How interesting. It sounds like you've had quite the life." Kathrynne commented, seemingly engrossed in the conversation, and having forgotten all about the game. "Were these expeditions before or during your tenure within IDOL?" She asked. "Or were they during your military service?"

"After. I was somewhat limited of where I am allowed to venture during my time at the military and free time was more limited when I became officer. I suppose this is where I've had much of my more formal demeanor and training." She explained.

"After my honorable discharge, I had decided to be a wandering word-for-hire." making a brief play on word. "5 years later, I've joined up with IDOL. Probably the best decisions that I've made so far as my domain of travel vastly expanded, and my colleagues were amiable." She pauses for a moment. "Do not get me wrong, I am grateful for my service within the military but this is where I am more comfortable with."

"Well, I am glad to hear that you are happy with your current position. There are not many who are so lucky as to have found what they are looking for out of life." Kathrynne commented. "I have been known to jump from opportunity to opportunity in the past, and rarely remain settled somewhere for long. But there are some things I have that I wish to keep forever." She smiled. "I suppose it's less important what you do than who your do it with, at the end of the day."

Luna smiles at them both. "I am glad that you've both found each other and found happiness. May your time with each her be eternal." Luna pauses as she looks like she wanted to take another slice of cake but decided not to. She had enough of it for the moment and did not wish to embarrass herself by going on a sugar rush.

She focuses her attention to Ix for the moment. "In your travels have you found anything of great interest. I would like to hear the stories of your journey." Then she shifted her eyes to Kathrynne. "You say that you've jumped from opportunity to opportunity. Any that you wish to share?" She seems rather attention and alert as her ears perk slightly upward. Maybe she already have too much energy from the cake slices already.

Ix smiled at Kathrynne's comment before looking back at Luna "T-Thank you, Luna." She replied with a warm smile "Well... I have found a bunch of interesting stuff on my travels, one of them was how to make these kind of stones..." She pulled a necklace with a stone from her pocket, blushing slightly, she was hoping to surprise Kathrynne with it "A comunication stone, it allows the user to talk to other people but... This one is special, this one only connects with one..."

She kept the necklace on the table "We also found a few texts about runes, that's how me and Xana started our studies about it, you could say that was the beginning of her interest and mine." She noticed Luna's ears perking "Are you okay Luna?" She asked while grabbing another cake, this one smell a bit weird but she took it anyway.

Kathrynne considered Luna's question. She seemed to be a slot more engaged with the conversation now. Or perhaps this was what she had been talking about before, when they'd discussed carrots giving her a sugar rush. In either case, it wasn't an unwelcome change.

"Well, for a time, I was a freelance negotiator, travelling from town to town, attempting to broker peace between various opposed factions, including midara and townsfolk, or opposed mercenary groups. I was relatively successful in most of my endeavours, but I always felt like I wasn't really doing enough. No matter how much I tried to change, the world always seemed to have more conflicts to resolve. Business was good, but I wasn't in it for the money. I wanted to make a real change." Kathrynne responded, thoughtfully. "Though I'm glad for my time in that role. It was actually in that role that I met Jane." She added.

PostSubject: Re: A Touch of Moonlight   A Touch of Moonlight - Page 6 EmptyWed Nov 14, 2018 8:03 pm

Luna briefly moved over to Ix's stone as if observing something very interesting. Always an explorer of new things, she finds the stones fairly wondrous with a good amount of application to boot. The glances to Kathrynne did not go unnoticed, neither did the words from Ix indicating whom the special stone is for. It was then that Ix's question makes her pause of her thoughts about the runes that Ix was starting to explain. "Yes I am. Though I am afraid, I might be slightly perky at the moment but nothing to worry of. I did hear of Xana speaking about runes as of her specialties though it does make sense that you would also pick up on the knowledge as well if you have her as a teacher. The current executive of IDOL is very interested in them."

She turned her attention to Kathrynne afterwards juggling with 2 separate conversations. It was then that Luna realizes the parallel skillset between Kathrynne and herself. "Hmm, it seems that we are fairly similar as we are both illusionist that are also arbitrators within our respective organizations. Though I can curious of what do you wish that would be considered a real change. Also I do not think I have met Jane before."
