The Aspects of the Eternal Empty
PostSubject: The Aspects of the Eternal   The Aspects of the Eternal EmptySat May 11, 2019 8:29 am

Lore: The Aspects of the Eternal are a collective of powerful entities that embody the essences of magic and its incredible power. They served as stewards of magic to safeguard magic from misuse but due to the perceived threat from other creatures, the Aspects chose to keep magic out of the hands of mortal beings. They chose to represent themselves as dragons, taking a form of a creature nearly divine to intimidate the mortal beings from trying to usurp their power.

This chosen form had the unintentional effect of urging mortals to revere the Aspects for their perceived power. Thus they would bestow gifts, worship, and pleasures to the Aspects which would ultimately lead to an extravagance as mortals treated them as gods. The Aspects, in turn, indulged in this reverence eventually growing too complacent and in their complacency, favored mortals of the Aspects would be granted powers akin to a demi-godhood.

These "children" of the Aspects would have a taste of power and crave more, leading a full revolution against the Aspects. The Aspects lost and in their defeat found their control of magic destroyed offering mortal beings the ability to practice magic. Yet as the Aspects embody the essences of magic, they were not entirely destroyed and simply became wandering avatars capable of great power still, but vulnerable to the rules of the new world.

Passive:

  • Entrapped Eternal- The entrapment of their beings into more mortal shells means they are vulnerable to even the lowliest creatures but so long as their essence of magic exists, an Aspect of the Eternal will never find permanence in defeat. Death is a mere temporary displacement as the existence of an Aspect's particular essence will allow the entity to reform. Since the essences of magic are no longer primarily stored in the Aspects, the world would see little effect outside of a trickle. However, if a being could harvest the power of Aspect after defeating one, they could greatly harm to the balance of magic, albeit temporarily.

Captors of any Aspect can drain the aspect of their essence empowering them with several effects depending upon how much they drain in a set period of time. While they would be greatly strengthened as the Aspect acts like a conduit for magic to pulled from the world. There is a risk  that the Aspect reawakens from the process, however, as the surging magic would reinvigorate themselves enough to break any bind, mental and physical. In that event, the Aspect would escape and no longer be a vessel for the captor to harvest.

The following takes place after any battle the entity has after defeating an Aspect:
Choose a level you wish to drain the Aspect. Successful rolls convey the listed benefits. Failed rolls result in the escape of the Aspect and no effects gained.

Ration: Gain 5 max stamina and all attacks do +1 willpower or stamina damage, must roll above a 35
Meal: As above but also gain the Aspect's Unique Essence Passive, must roll above a 50
Feast: As above but also gain an additional 5 max stamina, all attacks do an additional +1 damage, and inflicting status effects doubles the effect, must roll above a 65

Kirygosa "Kiry", the Emerald Dragon

The Aspects of the Eternal D78vf7k-992a7894-fe13-4995-83fe-684013b49736

Description: The Emerald Aspect concerns itself with essence of Life Magic, the ability of magic to create, grow, and heal all things. The essence of Life Magic is often vibrant, colorful, wild, and beneficial. Kirygosa took the form of an Emerald Dragon shining bright with glittery scales, greenery growing from out of her hide, and a natural radiance that attracted critters. Since the fall and being bounded to a more semi-mortal form, Kirygosa has adopted a youthful, energetic form. Far more wild, she is the Aspect that wanders the most and is far more prone to deeds of good nature compared to the other Aspects.

Passive:

  • Lifebringer:
Greater concentrations of Life Magic often cause great swaths of plant life and animal life to thrive. In these areas, life heals itself from all the essence of magic with travelers oftentimes noting where these "healing springs" are that will not only heal physical wounds but soothe the mind. Kiry's rolls are subject to the following: Upon any critical successful roll, Kiry heals for 2 stamina/willpower damage. Upon any critical failure roll, the opponent heals for 2 stamina/willpower damage.

Service to an Aspect's Essence allows the core of magic to be tapped into. Every time a living being is healed by Kiry's abilities, she generates Mana which is will stockpile until a set cap. While using spells of their own Essence is free, Mana allows an Aspect to utilize spells of other Essences at an associated cost related to the spell.

Abilities:

  • Emerald Claw:
Kiry manifests a phantom of a draconic limb to strike at her opponent. Deals 2 stamina damage.

  • Emerald Grasp:
Again Kiry manifests a phantom draconic limb only this time utilizing the size and strength of her dragon side to grab her opponent and keep them in a bind. Deals 1 stamina damage, inflicts bind.

  • Emerald Breath:
A phantom draconic head appears over Kiry, opening its mouth and releasing a fiery green breath. Deals 2 stamina damage and inflicts burn, dealing 1 damage for 2 turns.

  • Nature's Growth:
A weave of vines and roots will grow from the ground and attempt to take hold of Kiry's opponent. The plants continue to grow and further envelop her opponent until they are completely stuck. Initially inflicts bind. After one turn of failed struggles, the person is fully enveloped and Kiry is allowed a free action. If this move is performed when the opponent is under 5 health and succeeds to give Kiry a free turn, she is allowed to use Finisher: Full of Life

  • Aromatherapy:
A sweet scent descends upon the battlefield and this aroma helps heal Kiry of any afflictions she has while somewhat pacifying anyone who may wish to attack. One debuff is removed from Kiry and she heals for 1 health. The opponent is allowed a choice:
They can try to push through and attack making their next attack at a disadvantage but dealing double damage.
    -or-
They can pass, relaxing in the healing vapors and heal for 2 health.

  • Lifebinder:
Kiry draws in the magic from around her and channels it into a healing aura that heals her wounds and soothes her mind. After activating this ability, she will passively heal every turn for 1 stamina/willpower for five turns. However, the unbiased nature of this aura means that an opponent can steal this healing from an bind attack and will continue healing for the duration of the Lifebinder so long as the opponent maintains the bind.

  • Sweet Treat:
With a flick of the wrist, Kiry grows a mystery plant that quickly sprouts three fruit of the same variety. This ability randomly spawns one of 5 varieties, each with their own special effect. Eating these fruits will allow the person to feel the special effect of the fruit. Additionally there is potential of the plant growing succulent treats to increase the effects. The user of this ability is granted a secret roll to know what the outcome is ahead of time, however, any participant in the battle may pick a fruit as a free action. It costs an action to use a fruit, either on yourself or against your opponent.
    - 1-14, Harming, the consumer of this fruit takes 2 damage.
    - 15-28, Paralysis, the consumer of this fruit loses their next turn!
    - 29-42, Hallucinogen, the consumer of this fruit chooses one of the following: their next attack is made at a disadvantage or allows their opponent an advantage on their next attack
    - 43-56, Invigorating, the consumer of this fruit chooses one of the following: their next attack is made at an advantage or their opponent's next attack is made at a disadvantage
    - 57-84, Soothing, the consumer of this fruit heals for 2 damage.
    - 85-100, Sweet Feast triggers. The user rolls for this again, adding both effects to the fruit (This effect only happens once)

  • Nature's Overgrowth:
This ability is only allowed after Kiry's health falls below 50%. She will rapidly grow an expansive and dense forest, vanishing from her opponent's eyesight and plant herself seemingly deep within the forest. The opponent is then forced to navigate this sudden forest by choosing 1 of 3 distinct paths followed by another choice of 3 paths. Each path will result in a different experience for the opponent. Once the forest maze is navigated, it will dissipate returning the room back to the way it was.

-One path will contain skittish guardians, namely smaller forest creatures that will ambush the opponent. With their hit-and-run tactics, they'll inflict 2-4 stamina/willpower damage before retreating.
    - Another path will contain a larger forest guardian, something the opponent will have to fight with. The following are potential guardians:
Dryad: 2 Health, Access to Charm, Elusive (All attacks against it made at a disadvantage)
Tree Wraith: 6 Health, Access to Stun, Sturdy (Damage reduced by 1, minimum of 1)
    - The final path will always have nothing to attack the opponent and they will be allowed to continue forward unharmed. Furthermore, for every time the opponent selects the safest path, Kiry loses focus as she scrambles to reform the forest to protect herself. Therefore each time a safe path is found, Kiry's opponent gets one free turn against her simulating her unawareness of her opponent.

  • Finisher: Full of Life
When an opponent falls at or below 5 health and is subject to a full bind, Kiry will approach their tangled body and begin work on converting her victim. However, Kiry does not care for the mind or body of her victim but rather, wants their magic. Sweet honey, fresh scents, and a bit of intimacy will slowly convert that portion of her opponent's soul to continuously release their mana into the Essence of Life, empowering Kiry. For each opponent beaten, Kiry gains +1 maximum health and +5 starting mana. The victim is subject to a slight weakening in portion of their magical ability. One ability of theirs will recieve a -1 penalty to damage. Any opponent that manages to later defeat Kiry can return their portion of their soul and thus canceling out their debuff and Kiry's buff.
