| Off topic which is why this is here, but FUCK the 4.0 Castle of Temptation update. The update is actually really good, same quality as the previous updates, which makes me excited for the final game. But like the previous version, there are still bugs. Only difference is the BIGGEST difficulty spike in a game I've played for no reward. Ok, so beating the update is technically easy. The platforming is janky with one of the longest jump squats I've seen in a game, making jumping feel unsatisfying, but even if you haven't played the previous updates beating the game and seeing most of the game overs is pretty easy to do. The issue comes from the "true" ending. You need the cross which makes platforming much harder by adding hazards, but I honestly liked that. It's like in pizza tower when you run through the same level backwards. The issue though is the constant "gotcha!" moments you encounter. I won't spoil those but trust me you'll know when you see them. I will spoil the true ending though. - "True" Ending:
So once you get the book and make your way through the final platforming part, you then have to fight the final boss. She is the worst part about this game by far, and I'm gonna tell you why and how to beat her in case you decide to do what I did.
First, her game over scene is a handjob. You're talking about a place centered around mindbreaks, and your final boss does that? Her normal grabs are better than the game over, which is normally the highlight of any femdom game. But whatever, that's the least of my issues.
The REAL issue is the fight itself. You are given barely any room to dodge balls that home in on you, kinda like a slower version of the Undertale Dummy! rockets if you know what I mean. These balls are instagrabs, and the robe you wear protects you once before disappearing forever. You get 4 lives, and a grab at any point means restarting the WHOLE PHASE! She also summons lightning that knocks you backwards and stuns you for seconds, which means any balls close to you will touch you before you can input a key to get away.
I lost in the second phase my first try, and honestly couldn't get past the second phase my first 3 or 4 tries. To be clear, she summons 2 balls in phase 1, and 3 in phase 2. However, with the method I'll later explain, these phase can be beaten pretty easily. And I did do so after a few tries, losing my robe along the way.
That was when the gloves dropped.
Phase 3 is 4 balls, summoned every 4 seconds. The previous phases spawned all of them at once pretty close to each other. That meant that instead of balls grouping together like in the past phases quickly, the balls will spawn all over, including right in front of you as you are dodging the balls below you. I was stuck on this phase for so long, and to beat if I needed the robe, which meant I had to make sure that I wasn't hit in my previous phases.
Phase 4 I didn't beat for hours. Remember that knockback lightning she summons so you have to camp in the corners until the balls are right next to you? That now summons the balls. There are 15 lightning strikes, which each one getting quicker and quicker. Not only does that mean 15 balls now chase you, but the lightning walls you off, so you quickly get trapped into the corner and get grabbed.
This fight took me two days. Keep in mind even getting a new attempt took 30-45 seconds since you had to wait for the cutscenes to end, even when mashing the skip button. I spent like 2-3 hours the first night failing, and an hour the second night until I FINALLY won.
And what do you get?
JACK
SHIT
You get the normal ending cutscene and, since it's not the full game, the book you worked so hard to keep disappears. In the full game I imagine the book will do something, but right now you don't get anything. And you'll have to fight the boss again if you want to keep the book for whatever purpose it serves in the full game.
You can stop reading here. If you want to fight the boss though yourself and are struggling, here is how I did it.
It's all about ball management. There are two platforms you can use to jump over the balls, and ducking will cause the balls to home downwards more. Rotate between jumping over the balls and ducking below them when going from the left side of the screen to the right side and vise versa. Time your movements across the stage so the lightning doesn't hit you. You'll know you're doing it right if, when the first two phases end, the balls are all roughly overlapping. This should get you past phases 1 and 2 hitless.
Phase 3 is the first acceptable phase to get hit. You can get the first two balls to roughly overlap by waiting by where the second ball spawns. Try and get the first 3 balls that spawn in an area you can jump over, then jump over those, land, and dodge the forth ball that spawned. You'll fail the most here and getting hit is ok, though don't get hit twice.
The forth phase stand in the corner and duck. Slowly move while ducking so you can get as many balls to move low as possible. Jump over the balls and DON'T GET HIT BY THE LIGHTNING. Unlike in the other phases you won't get lucky and escape the balls, trust me. Since so many spawn, there is no way you'll get them to all overlap. Just try and stay low to the ground as much as possible so you can maybe make the jumps over the hoard of balls. Finally, make sure that you get out of the corner before the lighting really speeds up. That way you won't get walled in.
The FINAL phase is easy, but I did fail this once so if you ignore everything I said, at least remember this. The boss tries to suck you in, and if she grabs you, you redo phase 4!!!!!!! Which is literally the dumbest thing I've seen since the final boss of the kirby planet robobot's true arena has an instakill final attack. So please at least read this.
All you have to do is keep yourself perfectly in the middle of the edge of the arena and the boss. Too close to the boss and you'll get sucked in. Too close to the edge and lightning will appear and knock you back into the boss. It's not a lot of room for error, but it's more room than in any other phase. Just stay there until the boss fight ends and receive your nonexistent reward!
Last thing, while the robe is helpful, it isn't necessary. I actually did the fight hitless on my winning attempt, which happened right after I failed the final phase. Still, I would reset if you got hit in phase 1 or 2 since having the robe is so helpful in phases 3 and 4.
Tbh, I know you won't understand my pain. You can't understand it. Play it yourself. I dare you to beat the final boss. Earn the medal of honor I poured sweat and tears into. I dare you. Final thoughts: I can't believe this stage is only 2 stars. Wtf will 3 stars be? I really, REALLY don't want to know. | |
