Jarvis Goldmane
Description: A rather young village man from the neighbouring countryside, Jarvis is a self-proclaimed adventurer and huntsmen who takes up work and contracts for village folk like him on the continent. Whilst far from evil Jarvis does not do his work solely for the reasons of good but more so to make himself a sizeable wealth and cure his apparent wanderlust, which was the main factor for him leaving his village in pursuit of such a profession. Armed with a longsword, a repeater crossbow and his brazen wit Jarvis has found good money to be made in the hunting of both Midara and other evil beings and although he is still green in the field of hunting, what he lacks in experience he makes up for in natural tact.
Appearance: Jarvis is far from tall, but far from short as well standing at 5’10. He has a charming smile that is accompanied by a set of straight white teeth. Despite his youthful appearance he possesses a rather strong lower face within his sharp jaw and stern chin. Above lies two green dotted eyes that sparkle majestically, a sharp nose and a well maintained head of golden brown hair. Whilst his body is far from well built or muscular, Jarvis has a certain litheness about him that allows him to move quickly and unpredictably. Natural muscles line his arms, legs and chest, no doubt developing from his rather strenuous work, but they are lean and nought overbearing.
Attacks:
Simple strike – Jarvis extends his blade in an attempt to attack his opponent, dealing 1 damage to them if successful.
Furious flurry – Jarvis steels himself for a series of attacks, bringing his blade behind him as he swipes in a wide arc, and back, and back again. Rolling for each and dealing 1, 1 and 2 damage respectively if they hit.
Silver edge (counter) – Jarvis studies his opponent’s movements and attempts to parry their attack, mitigating their damage and dealing 2 if he is successful. If unsuccessful the enemy sees through his attempt of deflection and is granted a free move.
Disengage – Throwing his hands forward and kicking out, Jarvis attempts to disengage from melee range or from an enemy’s grapple or bind putting him in perfect range for a ranged attack. Missing his next turn if unsuccessful.
Biting bolt – Procuring a bolt from his quiver, Jarvis readies his crossbow and fires a single shot at his opponent, dealing 1 damage if successful or 2 damage if an opponent is snared or trapped.
Sharpshooter – Preparing himself for a single round, Jarvis prepares himself for a rather strenuous task. He fires his repeater crossbow at a remarkable place continuing to fire so long as his first shot hits. The first bolt deals 2 damage if successful, and the next deal 1 each. A maximum of 5 shots can be fired with one Sharpshooter.
Net throw – Jarvis pulls out a rope net with bollards attached to either side and throws it at his opponent, if successful they will be snared until they either roll successfully to escape or two turns elapse. If the net is escaped via dice roll, it can be thrown back at the poor adventurer.
Smoke bomb – Reaching into his satchel Jarvis pulls out a small circular object and throws it to the ground. It clouds the nearby area in a thick smoke, allowing either combatant to disengage or escape from a sticky situation.
