Appearance: Portly, balding, a dirty mustache, small watery eyes, crooked teeth, a voice like sandpaper, and a drooping posture. Really, he has it all.
Description: Harold the Hack is a vain man, son of a rich merchant and a doting maid, whose upbringing instilled a sense of entitlement and narcissism into him. He fancied himself a man of arts and an avid lover, which translated into explicit love poetry addressed to any comely gal unfortunately enough to catch his eye.
Soon, the atrocity of his writings combined with the tantrums he threw if anyone criticized his work turned him into a source of comedy for his village, then his county, then his country. He was invited to perform for the local lord, and finally believed himself to be appreciated. When he discovered he was simply there to be ridiculed by the entire court, he ran to the nearest watering hole and drank himself into a stupor.
Another guest recognized him and began taunting the drunk. Instead of responding, Harold stayed silent and seemingly left the tavern, only to return a short while later to bury a hatchet into the back of the bully's head. He ran outside, a horse already in position for a quick escape. He fled to midara lands, partly to avoid the authorities, and partly to check whether his talents would fare better there.
Abilities:
(some of Harold's abilities require the player to write a number of lines of poetry, preferably as atrociously as possible. The number of lines required and the form they must adhere to are specified)
Quick 'n Dirty Rhyme (1 line, must rhyme): Basic Willpower attack, as Harold improvises a verse. If the attack fails to reach his target, he makes a basic Stamina attack with his hatchet right afterwards.
Boorish Banter (pun, must be crude): Can only be used if an opponent's action failed the previous turn. Harold makes a cheesy taunt, sending his opponent into a fury, forcing them to only make Stamina attacks for the next three turns if the action succeeds.
Horrid Haiku (haiku format, must reference genitals in some way): Basic Willpower attack, stuns the opponent for one turn upon a success as they struggle to fathom to sheer terribleness of the poem. Harold finds the format somewhat limited, so is only willing to use this ability once every three turns.
Rancid Recitation (a couplet of 4 lines every turn, must rhyme): Harold takes out a bundle of his work and begins reciting. Willpower attack, does 1 Willpower damage on the first turn, then one extra Willpower every subsequent turn, until the performance ends after four turns. The ability is interrupted if Harold is hit by an attack inbetween these turns. After 2 turns of reciting, any creatures the opponent has summoned into the fight must roll a die, and they will flee for 3 turns upon a failure, returning to combat afterwards.
