Forest of Fairy (Gwen, Selene, Jonas, and Test)

"It can't have much left in the tank now." Jonas said as he hung back and kept throwing his weapons from a distance to help out.

Boomerang Pitch

"I'm right here." Test said as he switched to the defensive. Concerned about what the plant woman might try to do in her enraged state and hoping she'd direct her rage at him rather than the others.

River Stance

Selene laughed "I really don't see how she could do much Gwen! this is a easier fight then the huntresses~" she teased as she swung her branch at the plant woman

(Bonk)

Gwen shrugged at Selene's statement as she went for an "uppercut" with her scissors, aiming to land the final blow.

Test, Jonas, and Gwen each branded their weapon of choice and struck a different head of the Mama Venus. The large plant woman went limp as she was knocked out by the combined assault.

"That was... much easier than I thought it was going to be. But, I'd rather not stick around with her. Let's move on." Jonas said as he caught his Boomerang on its return. After losing to that Alraune earlier, this was a welcome confidence boost.

Selene smiled "What a easy win! lets continue on so we can keep up this good fortune!" she said hoping for more weak midara like her

Gwen just noded and went along with the group. No point is staying here, she thought.

"Let's continue." Test agreed as he followed the group. As nice as it was they didn't have any time to rest on their laurels.

The group headed toward the castle, leaving their most recent foe behind. Unfortunately, they soon ran into a different problem.

Namely, the large front gate of the castle was currently closed.

"Guess we're not going in the front. Time to find another way." Jonas stated the obvious, ready to follow his team in search of a solution.

Selene nodded "If you want, i can fly up and see if there is a different way in, maybe some kind of break in the walls or grossly enough a sewer"

"I think we should stick together." Test suggested. After what happened with Selene and the huntress he didn't want to risk her getting spirited away to somewhere where they couldn't help her. "There must be another way in, surely the midara get in and out somehow. Let's look for a door or an opening."

"Yes, there is no need to split up." Gwen said as she walked towards the big gate that she stood in their way and, with grunts of effort, tried to force the castle gates wide open. "And maybe it's not even locked!" She said as she tried to push it open.

"That or maybe we can find some secret entrance, castles have those, no?" She said it into the air, not really waiting for an answer but still hoping that she didn't have her secret dream of entering a fortified castle through a secret entrance destroyed.

To the group's surprise, the large gate opened rather easily, and Gwen nearly stumbled from the lack of expected resistance. The adventurers stepped inside to find them in a lavish entrance hall.

A chime from above drew their attention to a sparkling chandelier and the group of tiny women floating down from it.

"Hello, traveler." one the fairies asked Selene. "Are you here with tribute for our Queen?"

Jonas looked to Selene, remembering how she was well... a fairy. Even in her larger size, the fairies of the forest didn't attack her on sight. He remained silent and tried to convey what he was thinking with his gaze to his friend with a quick wink: 'I'm willing to play the part if you think you can trick them.'

"See? Closed doesn't always mean locked." Gwen said, very happy with herself right now, but she shut her mouth when she saw the fairies. She then looked at Selene and winked. "I believe she is calling the slaves 'tribute'." Then she placed her hands behind her, where the fairies couldn't see, and snapped her fingers at Test and Jonas, calling their attention.

If they played their cards right, they could be brought up right in front of the Queen and that would save them a lot of fighting and unnecessary effort.

Test stared at Gwen's snapping fingers in confusion for a second before he figured out what she was saying. He did his best to play along and appear meek and impassive. If nothing else they could probably use this to ambush the fairies.

Selene smiled and held out the cookies she had been given by the villagers "We bring a fresh batch of cookies for her as well as some new worshipers!" She said with a large smile as she let her wings flutter to show she was a fairy to the other fairies

The group of fairies' mouths began to water as they stared at the cookies. "We'll uh, just, uh take these." one said as two fluttered forward as to grab the bag. "Make sure they... aren't burnt or anything. See if they're proper quality to give to the queen. You can give her the worshippers yourself, just follow the red carpet."

The small flock of fairies retreated back up to the chandelier and the Adventurers could hear them began to snack on the cookies. The villagers weren't kidding when they said the fairies loved them.

"Nice work. Especially with the cookies." Jonas whispered to Selene. Now they had a clear shot to the Queen, they were really om a roll now.

Selene smiled and held up her thumb to the other fairies and to Jonas as she began to walk forward "Told you i was a perfect teammate." she teased as she began following the red carpet

"Positively amazing, Selene." Gwen said in praise. "I would even kiss you, but it's not a proper moment." She added pointing at the red carpet that she would begin to follow. "We have an audience with a Queen, after all."

"Well done Selene." Test joined in, helping heap on the praise. Unless anything else happened the adventurer would start to follow the red carpet to their final opponent.

It wasn't long before the group arrived at the end of the carpet. A set of imposing double doors stood before them. Even the non-magical members of their group could feel the power radiating from beyond them.

Whoever was waiting for them on the other side was, by far, the most powerful Midara they would encounter yet.
