From what a tweet I found earlier, that little video-gamey text box in the same panel where the Chu Chu Flower is puckering its lips says: "When it catches its prey, it kisses it all over. It is not yet known why it does this."

Haven't actually read the manga, a kissy artist named @waruneko968 on twitter talked about wanting to get smooched by a plant like this. I'd recommend checking her stuff out, it's really hot (you have to follow her to actually see her posts, she'll follow you back sometime later).
