The TAMA could be a playful bunny girl, or an elegant kitsune, or a mischievous lamia, whatever the customers heart might desire. And that was before even getting to the behavioral modules. The different kinds of TAMAs appeared on screen, each one curvier and more alluring than the last.

It was getting harder and harder to resist the urge to go rent one right now, hell, to maybe even buy one if she could afford it. She had a job to do, though, and she couldn't just keep taking detours... right?

Damn, she just couldn't resist! She at least had to see it for herself, right, maybe check out how expensive a unit was for purchase? Maybe she could make some money in the city if she needed for the purchase?

Rachel quickly rushed over and found a sleek, minimalistic stores with lots of different kinds of TAMAs on display. "Hello. What ya looking for?" Asked a short, woman being the counter wearing slightly stained overalls. Rachel got the impression that this woman was as much a mechanic as she was a saleswoman.

She felt a little shameful now that she was here, talking to another person about this, though just being here probably told the saleswoman all she needed to know. "Um, I heard about the rental service, but I was wondering... how much do they cost to own... at least, if that is an option?"

"Well owning is a bit pricey. It can cost more than a hundred gold if you're looking to do some serious customization. But maybe I can see about getting you some discounts. What sort of TAMA are you hoping to get?" The saleswoman asked, looking to cut a deal.

She thought as much, though to know the exact price of something she wanted, she'd have to think about what kind of customizations she'd want. "Um... you won't tell anyone about this, will you?"

"Of course not. Customer purchases are strictly confidential. I'll only be recording the model number, and the total cost of customization." The mechanic/saleswoman assured her.

Rachel hesitated for just a bit longer before asking, "Okay... how much for a TAMA with big boobs, thick lips, and the personality of a femme fatale supervillainess? Any other gimmicks can be randomized past that, honestly. Oh, maybe have poison lipstick full of aphrodisiacs or something?"

"Hmm. I can make all that work. Do you have experience metalworking by any chance?" The saleswoman asked, clearly noticing the way Vulcan's superhero outfit was based on her welding clothes.

"O-Oh, yeah! I work in a smith shop, actually," she stated, wondering if that might reduce the price on some level, crossing her fingers hopefully.

"If you're willing to make a deal I might have something for you. I got a rush order of TAMA's that need fixing, apparently something seriously dented and misaligned their frames and broke a bunch of components. If I had a second pair of hands that knew how to weld I could get it done a lot faster, but hiring someone for one job can be tricky. So how about you help me with that and I'll give you 50% off on your TAMA." The mechanic offered, seeing a chance to cut a deal.

FIFTY!? That was a hell of a price cut! "O-Oh, sure thing! I don't mind lending a hand if you need it. After all, what's a superhero for?" She decided this was too good of an opportunity to pass up, forgetting in the moment about her concerns.

"Thanks. You're a lifesaver. I need these fixed as soon as possible and without you I just might not be able to do it on time. Come on. Let me show you to the back." The saleswoman said, opening up the room to the back to let Vulcan in.

Lured in not just by the discount, but the prospect of helping someone in need, Vulcan followed her towards the back room in hopes that she could help sort out the mechanic's workload a bit. "I'll do whatever I can, trust me!"

Inside was a mechanics workshop, and like every mechanic's workshop that Rachel had ever seen it was a bit of a mess. It was easy to spot their workload, on one side of the room half a dozen TAMAs sat in a broken heap. They didn't just look damaged, they looked like someone had made a concentrated effort to destroy them. "Here's the plan. You straighten and weld back together the broken metal components, I'll work on replacing the broken electronic parts. It will be like a two person production line." The mechanic said as she headed towards the heap of TAMAs.

"Right," Rachel chimed in, approaching the pile herself, ready to start fixing up the exteriors of the TAMA units. As she finally reached her newly acquired workload, that was when she recalled how potentially dangerous these robots were... someone clearly wanted these things wrecked, but for what purpose? Were they really just as dangerous as she said? What about the mechanic... she built, repaired, and sold these things... Does she know or is she ignorant? Questions for later... For now, she got to work, taking advantage of her strength and powers to straight and buff out the pieces of metal and putting them back together in a way that looked right.
