Alexander (Alex) Areio
A guy in his mid-20s who has trained to become a martial artist since childhood, when he was little people took notice of his capacity to fight and flexibility and encouraged him to follow this path.
He usually dresses in comfortable clothes, apt for fighting at a moment's notice. His black short hair is somewhat spiky. His hands and forearms are covered in bandages as a way of protecting his skin from the cuts and scrapes he might get while training/fighting.
While he is a person whose main hobby is training and fighting, this doesn't mean he is someone naive or airheaded. He understands normal interactions and while not exactly the brightest light, he is not dumb either. He is a normal guy whose passion and main source of entertainment is honing his skills. But while all this is true he can become a bit stubborn in the middle of the battle and refuse to flee even if it's clear he cannot win.
Besides mastering his martial habilities, Alex enjoys traveling to new places, hearing the stories of other people that he meets. He likes doing card tricks and cooking (even though he isn't really gifted on these last two, but he tries his best) He also has a weakness/soft spot for puns and bad jokes in general.
While he is not strange to how Midaras fight, he is still a bit embarrassed by that and is as easily tempted as any other, maybe even more.
Combat: His style of combat is based on hand to hand strikes, without weapons. What he usually does is use a mix of strikes and throws to wear down his opponent while trying to accumulate spiritual energy, and then release this energy into a heavy-hitting attack.
Gimmick: when he does an ability other than a basic attack and do a critical hit, he gains a spirit mark, he can hold up to 4 of them and use them to enhance his next ability. On the other hand, if he does a critical fail his spirit energy is disturbed and goes tumultuous in a way he didn't intend. Making him lose one of his marks and Making him more sensitive for the next attack (+1 damage for the enemy on the next attack) since that attack will affect his spirit directly.
Pugilist mastery, passive: Thanks to his knowledge about martial arts and throws, he can get an advantage to a struggle roll by spending a mark
Passives:
Love magic: Due to his experiences with a powerful source of love magic, whenever hit by a magic made to arouse, Alex has a chance to gain a +1 attack bonus for their next 2 attacks.
Actions:
Basic attack: a normal hit (maybe a kick or a punch)
Charged strike: a double punch hit, (2 dmg) Enhanced: does more damage(3dmg)
Overthrow: Alex grabs his foe and throws her over his head, doing 1 damage and having the probability of stunning. Enhanced: 2 damage and auto stun
Inner preparations: The monk concentrates on giving his next attack either an advantage or +1 damage (needs to be specified when doing the ability). Enhanced: He does both
Nelson bind: Alex tries to restraint his opponent, but he also limits his own actions to basic attacks since he is occupied binding the foe. Enhanced: with the extra force of the bind he also does 1 damage/turn the foe hasn't scaped
Concentration: Alex concentrates his spirit energy to gain one mark, the benefits and penalizations of his critical hit/misses doesn't apply, cannot be enhanced
Parry: must choose physical or magical. if the enemy attacks with the chosen kind of attack while in this state, they get countered and thrown down, dealing one damage Enhanced, both kinds of attacks are countered. If the attack is neither physical or magical the parry doesn't have any effect
Calming seas: Alex calms himself and tries to regain his composure, recovering 4 willpower. Enhance: he recovers 8 willpower instead.
Suplex: can only be done if you are binding the rival with a nelson, Alex suplexes his foe doing 2 dmg and ending the restraint. Enhanced costs 2 marks, he tries to do a double suplex, making this a multi-hit each one of 2 dmg
Wyvern punch: Our man does a rising punch, dealing 2 dmg and making him this turn invulnerable to binds, but if it fails Alex gets off-balance. Enhanced, cost 2: The movement makes Alex fully invulnerable this turn, the failing penalization still applies.
spirit rush, can only be used spending all 4 marks:
Alex lunges forward and does an earth-shattering uppercut, when the rival is in the air, he jumps, grabs him, throws him to the floor, and lands on him. Dealing massive damage (6?). It doesn't gives marks even if it critically hits, but it gives the negative effect if it critically fails.
Weaknesses:
Seduction: while Alex is good in hand to hand combat and he almost ever flee from battle, he is easily flustered and Midaras can convince him to give him into her charms rather easily, seduction based attacks get an advantage against Alex
strong women: Since Alex is a warrior himself he admires the people who also hone their bodies. If a woman use a movement that display her muscles as a point of attention, that attack does +1 damage
Sex: Due to his encounter and pounding at the hands of Leone, the lioness shaman midara, skills that involve raw genital-to-genital play have advantage
