Salos vs. The Candy Witch

Rumors of a witch practicing a new form of magic. Little was known about her other than that she was speculated to be behind several kidnappings, all of which had the crime scene look like a kitchen exploded instead of a normal midara attack.


Thus we find Salos, investigating the rumors and on his way to the town that had the most recent of these strange disappearances

“Hopefully I can solve these disappearances and maybe learn some new magic as well.” he said, following the trail of magic to hopefully find the culprit.

While following the trail of magic, it wasn't long before Salos stumbled upon a different kind of trail; one of crumbs and sweets leading into the depths of the woods.

“Who is she trying to lure out? Hungry kids?” he asked with an air of sarcasm to himself.

"Ah!"

A young girl's voice cried out from deep into the woods and Salos started running towards it on instinct.

It wasn't long before he found a crying girl, but there was something off about her. Both her hair and clothes looked to be made out of the same things gummy bears were made of.

Salos: 30 Willpower
Gummy Girl: 15 Stamina

“Hey are you ok?” he asked, partly thinking this little girl was cursed by someone.

(Gummy Bear Barrage -roll 67, 45, 41- 3 Fail!)

A falling leaf suddenly drew Salos' attention upwards. Looking up he saw branches shaking before... gummy bears the size of dogs started leaping out of the trees?

Well, as strange as the sight was, Salos still had enough sense to get out of the way of the falling bears.


Salos: 30 Willpower
Gummy Girl: 15 Stamina

“Ok. Maybe your not the victim I thought you were.” he said, summoning flames to try to trap them.

(Gummy Bear Barrage -roll 85, 50, 64- 2 Success and 1 Fail! 2 Successes causes Gummy Girl to gain Advantage!)

"Eep!" the girl shrieked as she ran from his flames. "Get him, gummies!"

The candy bears leapt at her command, and Salos soon found himself dogpiled under their gummy bodies.


Salos: 28 Willpower
Gummy Girl: 15 Stamina + Advantage

He tried to push them off as he tried to throw his flaming daggers at the girl.

(Blaze Daggers -roll 8, 52, 56, 61- 2 Success, 1 Fail, and 1 Crit Success! So Squishy! prevents Gummy Girl from being Stunned by Crits!)
(Little Bear Hug -roll [58, 45]- Success! Stun -roll 81- Fail!)

The strange girl yelped in pain daggers struck her. The flaming blades sunk into her body before suddenly bouncing off of her.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you you're not supposed to play with fire?" the girl asked before she ran over to the fire mage and gave his body a great big squeeze.

Gummy Girl: 12 Stamina

“Sorry. I didn’t get that lesson as a child.” he said, summoning fiery chains to bind her.

(Fire bind)

(Fire Bind -roll 4- Crit Success! So Squishy prevents Gummy Girl from being stunned by crits!)
(Struggle -roll 83- Fail!)

Chains of fire wrapped around the girl and pulled her off of Salos. "Well, why not?" she complained as she struggled to escape her new bindings.

Gummy Girl: 11 Stamina + Bound

“I’m a pyromancer. Playing with Fire is kinda my deal. What other magic would I use?” he asked as he summoned his bow and aimed.

(Blazing bullseye)

The arrow struck the girl and she let out a shriek as her strange hair went up in flames.

"Sugar burns! Sugar burns!" she shouted as her panicked flailing managed to break her binds. The child ran circles around Salos as if she was trying to outrun the flames clinging to her.



Salos: 26 Willpower + Stunned
Gummy Girl: 9 Stamina + Burn(3)

He watched her as she ran around him like a hyper active child on gallons of sugar and soda.

The odd girl was then tackled to the ground by her large gummy bears as they ineffectually tried to put out her flaming hair.

Gummy Girl: 8 Stamina + Burn(2)

Salos summoned more daggers and sent them at her.

"Owie!" the strange gummy girl cried out as the flaming daggers struck as she picked herself up off the forest floor.

Gummy Girl: 4 Stamina + Burn(1)

“I think you should leave before this get painful.” he said, charging his magic to try to scare her away.

(Heated horror)

(Stunned!)


The gummy girl's body trembled in fear. She was so frozen in terror at the man's fiery display she didn't even notice the fire in her hair finally going out.

“Leave now or this gets worse.” he said, trying to scare her to run away.

(Intimidation)

The strange midara let out horrified scream before she ran away as fast as her legs could carry her. Her small army of gummy bear creatures looked at her fleeing form, and then back to Salos before running after her.

"I felt bad fighting her. At least this way, the girl is alright." he said, walking towards the source of the magic once again

Following the magic, soon led Salos to an unassuming cabin in the woods. If not for how thick the magic in the air was, as well as all the crumbs and sugar and such littering the ground around it, it would be easy to mistake it for an ordinary home.
