Test vs. Sonya, The Hypnotic Maiden

Test double and triple checked his things, making sure everything was in order. He had been given an important task recently to guard a caravan full of both gold and information vital to adventurers. Apparently, it had information on special techniques one could use to defeat just about any midara. Honestly, the people running the caravan had seemed to withhold some information to Test as they wanted it to be as secret as possible, but it didn't matter, as the job was both secret to try and be as safe as possible and paid extremely well. The caravan was set to leave in a couple of hours as Test continued his preparations for going to go to the place where it would begin it's journey.

Test continues to nervously go over his gear. He's been hired under conditions of absolute secrecy. Picked because his growing reputation as an adventurer and outsider status meant that he was unlikely to have any loyalties that would compromise the mission. He hadn't been told what was on the cart he was supposed to be guarding but the pay, both up front and for afterwards was very high so he knew it must be valuable. What he did know was the time and place of departure and just enough about the rout and destination so that he could rendezvous with the caravan should he somehow become separated. Finally satisfied with his preparations Test shouldered his gear and got ready to leave soon. After all the point of departure was well out of town. It would likely take almost an hour of walking just to get there.

The adventurer completed his preparations and went on his way to meet up with the caravan. Test had been walking along the wooded trail to reach the caravan for some time now. Almost half an hour had passed as the adventurer started walking. The forest trail was quiet, tranquil even. The birds were chirping and the leaves were rustling in the soft caress of the wind. Although for some reason, Test couldn't help but feel like he was being watched.

As the the sense that he was being followed slowly crept up on him Test decided to play it safe. He deliberately took a wrong turn, going down a different path then the one that lead to the caravan. If he was being followed he couldn't afford to jeopardize the secrecy of the mission, and if he wasn't being followed he'd have plenty of time to turn around and get back on track. As he headed in this new direction Test's grew visible more nervous. He didn't handle these kinds of situations well and it was becoming harder and harder to keep his cool.

As Test kept going, the sense that he was being watched only continued. After walking in the wrong direction for what seemed like another 10 minutes, he was almost convinced that it was all in his head. However, just when the adventurer planned to turn around and go back the way he came or lose his mind from the stress, he heard a woman's voice break through the forest's relative silence. 'Well, I was tailing you for a while, but it seems you could sense me. What a smart boy.' A sultry yet slightly mocking voice said, seeming to come from all around him.

"Who's there." Test barked as he drew his halberd. "Show yourself." He had know idea who this person tailing him was, but their intentions couldn't be good.

Test heard a feminine laugh from the bushes to his left. 'Aww, trying to sound tough? How cute.' A woman said as she emerged from the underbrush. She was inhumanly beautiful, almost certainly a midara based on her looks alone. She had flowing, silky looking black hair and deep purple eyes. Sonya tried striking him with her crop, but with his superior reach, the adventurer kept her at arms length, making her frown in disappointment. 'We'll just see about that.' She said in response as she circled him, almost like a cat eyeing a juicy mouse.

"Yes we will." Test said with a confident grin. Already things were off to a good start. He bet that as long as he kept her at arm's lengths she wouldn't even be able to touch him with that riding crop of hers.

Test kept his halberd pointed at the dominatrix, keeping himself well away from her. Although he wasn't able to land a hit on her this time, neither did she.

I didn't know adventurers were such cowards that they couldn't face a single, beautiful woman face to face.' She said, attempting to taunt him as she kept her distance, wary of getting another smack.

"Sorry, looks like you'll just have to find a way to beat me from all the way over there." Test taunted in return. As he did so he actively worked to keep focused and stop his eyes from wandering her body, particularly to her exposed cleavage.
