Æona Daughter of the Yggdrasil Aeona10

Æona Daughter of the Yggdrasil

Coming with the change of ages, the Yggdrasil knew it was time for new life, new worlds, a brand new cosmos. However, for as strong as the Great  Tree was, the Nine worlds were as much fruit as it could bare. So with spare energy over the course of many millennia the Yggdrasil created a small seedling: Æona.

Aeona grew up watching the gods hold their daily meetings at the well of Urd. She learned a great deal from them and their companion animals over the course of her time at the well. Æona was nurtured by the Norns, just as they take care of the Yggdrasil.

But with the accumulation of knowledge and a bit of practice in combat, Æona has set herself on a journey with the idea in mind to acquire more detailed information about the nine worlds, possibly even more before she decides on what sort of realms she is to create, as the Norns had described in her Fate. While the knowledge that the Ragnarok is impending doom in an inexorable future for her “Mother” her home cosmos, Æona was not destined to suffer the same fate. For several millennia, Æona wandered between the Nine Worlds, collecting a great deal of souls, from many walks of life. Her journey however, was not limited to those worlds she knew in existence as the Yggdrasil had something more to offer than the nine worlds. After Aeona’s creation, the Yggdrasil began to grow new roots. Tubers, that stretched and while in early stages, even fruition. New worlds grew with this excess energy that Yggdrasil now used to further its own growth.

Æona, as befitting of a child of the gods, carries a certain mystic air to her presence, with a subtle grace to her every movement. However, the inner workings of mortals are a mystery to her, and, while innocent in her thought process, tends to look down on those that she meets unintentionally. She is confident in both her abilities and her goal, but sometimes this may clash with her usual gentle personality.

In order for Æona to make the transition to maturity, she must collect 1,000 souls from each race to be included within her fruit. This can either be done by defeating the enemy in mortal combat or of natural causes. But Æona has to be present to collect the souls. The vessel in which these souls are sealed within is an amulet that Æona wears, hidden beneath clothing.

Attacks

Thundering Timber
“If you intend to fell me, then you shall feel the weight of this mighty Ash!” Æona grows an ash tree before her, thick and tall for it to topple onto her foe(s). Deals 3 damage to a target, and has a chance of inflicting Downed.

Sounds of the Serene
“You look quite tired, allow the birds of Bragi to aid your sleep.” Æona calls forth song birds from the surrounding area to spin a warm lullaby to make the foe drowsy/fall asleep. Deals 2 damage. Æona is locked into repeating the action next turn on a successful hit, with the opponent being disadvantaged. If the target misses their next action against her, the move will auto hit and the target will fall asleep. If they succeed, the effect is canceled and Æona is disadvantaged for her next action instead.

Nature’s Binding
“How unruly you are, perhaps you should show some restraint.” Æona points to the ground at the enemy’s feet and makes a twirling motion with her index finger. Vines of ivy spurt from the ground and ensnaring her foe. Deals 2 damage. Inflicts Bind, dealing two damage each turn until user struggles out of it.

Nectar of the Gods
“Don’t be ashamed to enjoy the company of nature.” Æona beckons the foe closer, the branches of her “hair” blooming in tiny white blossoms, emitting a strong ambrosia, sweet, irresistible… Intoxicating..Deals 1 damage Inflicts Stun and causes the next attack done by Æona to automatically hit, ignoring rolls. If the move chosen has an extra effect needing to be rolled for, do so even if the move automatically hits. It takes 4 rounds for the target’s body to process and expel the effect

Loving Sustenance
“Perhaps I won’t call you mere fertilizer..but you do look...nutritious.” Æona locks lips with her victim and drains them of life. Deals 4 damage. Heals Æona for half the damage dealt.

Dire Strike
“Come! Freki! Geri! Bring me their soul!” Æona summons two spectral dire grey wolves, in the likeness of the ones seen at odin’s side, to attack and subdue her enemy. Rolls twice, dealing 2 damage for each successful roll. If both hits connect, target’s Defense is lowered by 1 for 2 turns. If both hits miss, Æona’s attack is lowered by 1 for 2 turns.

Falcon’s Hunt
“Great gyr of Hermod, carry my word.” A rather large gyrfalcon comes to Æona’s call, to ferry a message unerringly to its recipient. Deals 2 damage. If the target has a status buff, deals 3 damage and takes those buffs to apply to herself, for half the duration that they would have had for the recipient.

Asgard’s Stampede
“Clap of thunder, Ram of Odin’s son…” A spectral Dall’s Ram, in a great flash of lightning dashes at Æona’s foe, assuming it hits its mark, it stuns the foe for the round and deals 2 shock damage.

Gift of Warmth
“Star of Sunna, bring forth light to this dim world.” Æona calls upon the power of the sun for 4 rounds, granting her advantage while standing in the strong light. If the opponent is weak to light, this does 1 damage/round active. If an enemy is creative enough, the sunlight can be dispelled, but it would require a turn to do so.

Echoing Folly
“Do you hear it? The cacophony of things you speak? I’ve heard you, for nature hears everything.” Æona calls forth a flock of mockingbirds to repeat the most choice of words the opponent has said that day, distracting their thoughts. Inflicts disadvantage for two turns. If there is more than two targets, target must make an additional roll which, if unsuccessful, will have their companion instead in a fit of anger.

Impale
“There exists nothing nature cannot grow through. Including your fragile little body mortal.”
Æona holds her hands out, palm down. Her “fingers” grow rapidly out and stab into the opponent dealing 5 damage. A separate roll must be made when used. If it fails, Impale cannot be used again for the rest of the current fight.

Soul Transfer / Revitalize
“Mother Yggdrasil, grant me this youngling’s soul. I wish to keep them in my possession.” Æona trades 100 souls out of her pool of the targets’ race with the Yggdrasil to save her companion from the brink of death. This heals the target to half of their max health. It does not however, bring back the dead.
The transfer of one’s soul from Yggdrasil to Æona, seems to have a… Peculiar side effect on the soul. The target starts to feel ever increasingly more positive towards Æona.

Growth and Rebirth
“Time heals all wounds and nature will regrow. You are part of nature, no?” Æona kisses the subject, a simple peck on the cheek or forehead would suffice. She multiplies the subject’s natural healing factor, slowly healing them by 2 each turn over 3 turns. This exhausts the subject, causing their damage to drop by 1 through the duration.

Passives
Æona, being a dryad, gains a +1 to attack and defense on natural terrain. Specifically soil.

Weakness
Æona, a tree person is weak to man-made poisons and flame. Moves of this type deal +1 damage and, if they have to roll for their extra effects, always inflict them without a roll.

She's ACTUALLY finished! With special thanks to DarkHeroAxel for the help detailing her and keeping within reasonable bounds, especially on the combat and more. I'm still not super familiar with it all yet.
