Sorrel Greenhorn Empty
PostSubject: Sorrel Greenhorn   Sorrel Greenhorn EmptySat Jan 13, 2024 7:16 pm

Sorrel was never liked in his home village. His peers bullied him for his strange facial features and freakish, lanky body. He couldn’t even grow a beard! Sorrel wondered if he had some sort of gigantism, or if he was even a gnome like them at all.

When he turned eighteen and reached the towering height of four feet tall, his mother told him the truth: his father had been a human. Sorrel was a half-gnome, with the pointed ears and some of the magic of a gnome, and a height in between gnomes and humans. Since then, Sorrel has been on a quest around the world to learn of its secrets, and maybe find his real father.

Sorrel uses no weapons in combat, instead using gnome earth magic to stymie his foes.

Attacks:

Earthen Fist: A standard earth magic attack that creates a fist from the ground under the foe.

Pebble Storm: Sorrel pelts his enemy with a wave of pebbles. This attack deals 3 hits with their own rolls which each inflict 1/3 normal attack damage.

Burrow: Sorrel rapidly digs a hole, burrowing under the ground. On the next turn, he’s untargetable, and makes an attack after the enemy moves.

Stone Armor: Sorrel gets hard, but not in the way the enemy wants him to. Sorrel encases himself in rock armor that can withstand one physical hit before breaking. This armor also renders him immune to physical seduction attacks, but he remains vulnerable to mental ones.

Vine Tangle: Sorrel calls ivy to wrap around his opponent, inflicting Bind.

Rose’s Thorns: Sorrel calls brambles to wrap around himself. For the next three turns, anyone who touches him takes 1 damage. Fire attacks dispel this effect instantly.

Healing Scent: Sorrel summons a patch of flowers, whose scent removes a random debuff from him or an ally.

Plant a Seed: Sorrel plants a magical seed in the ground that germinates for two rounds. What it grows into is randomly rolled when it sprouts:
  • 50%: Bombfruit Seed. This fruit spreads its seeds by exploding violently. The explosion damages the opponent as a basic attack. If they’re binding Sorrel at the time, it hits both of them and breaks the bind.
  • 30%: Magic Fruit Seed. This magical fruit can be eaten by Sorrel as an action, healing 20% of his willpower. If he doesn’t eat it right away, it can be stolen by the enemy.
  • 10%: Alarune Seed. The plant grows into an alarune who acts independently and tries to seduce Sorrel’s foe, making basic Willpower attacks. She flees in a huff after taking two hits.
  • 10%: Love Seed. The plant grows into a flower that sprays Sorrel with pheromone pollen, making him fall in love with the foe for one round. While in love, the only action Sorrel can take is requesting an attack, which will autohit.

Weaknesses:

Breast Smother: Sorrel’s height puts him at just the right position for a gentle, tender hug to put his face right in between a woman’s soft breasts. If Sorrel is in a bind with his face in the enemy’s cleavage, he must make two consecutive Struggle rolls to escape.

Despite beung a lurker and rarely an RPer here for several years, I had yet to make a hero character. After hitting writer’s block on several more gimmicky ones, I figured I’d just make a more simple character.
