Imite, The Doppelganger

This is a work in progress, mainly due to me having too many ideas floating around for this one and needing to take consideration into how to balance them all out. Suggestions are always welcome.

Imite, The Doppleganger

Appearance: True to the nature of her kind, Imite's appearance changes frequently, depending on what form she assumes. She is so rarely seen in her true form that no one knows for certain what she looks like without an assumed visage. Also, while she often assumes the figure of a woman, she can freely change her gender if she wishes.

Description: Doppelgangers are a type of monster infamous for their powerful shapeshifting abilities. They are cunning creatures and while not inherently evil, they are often self-centered and will not hesitate to dispose of people and assume their place as they see fit. Fortunately, Imite lives a more carefree existence, travelling the realm and doing as she pleases, enjoying all of life's joys...pleasures of the flesh included.

Passive

Perfect Replica - Imite's shapeshifting goes beyond physical appearances. She is able to copy the attacks and passive abilities of anything she assumes the form of (this can be adjusted as per the DM's discretion). This has its limitations as she must first get a good read on what she wants to shapeshift into if she has never seen it before. Furthermore, she cannot copy the stamina/willpower of her chosen form; she must rely on her own.

Abilities

Form Change - The staple ability of all doppelgangers. Imite shapeshifts her form to mimic another's. The length of the transformation depends on the complexity of the change. If it is a minor change, such as adjusting parts of her body, it counts as a free action. If it is something more in-depth, such as changing her form altogether, it counts as her action for that turn.

Analyze/Read Thoughts - Imite focuses on something or someone she wishes to assume the form of, carefully analyzing their appearance and capabilities. Once she has done this, their form will be inscribed in her memory and she may shapeshift into it. This requires absolute concentration and the slightest lapse can disrupt the process altogether.

If she chooses, she can also utilize her mental power to learn everything she can about her target, including their desires after a successful analysis.

Mimic - Using intense observation, Imite can mimic an attack an opponent has made against her if she does not already possess it in her current form. The attack does not have to land on her in order for her to copy it, but only one ability can be mimicked at a time.

Attacks

Seeing What You Want - Imite will strike a suggestive pose in an attempt to entice her victim. Does 2 Willpower damage and Charms the target for 1 turn. If she has used Read Thoughts to get a read on her victim's preferences and changed her form appropriately, the display will charm her target for 3 turns instead.

Seize Prey - Getting close, Imite will attempt to embrace and hold onto her victim. Should her form have appendages or other parts that would aid in this endeavor (tentacles, vines, etc.), the attack is made with advantage (best of two rolls). Inflicts Bind. Opponent must struggle to escape.

Sweet Nothings - Imite whispers sultry words into her opponent's ear. Deals 3 willpower damage.

Grind - Self explanatory and a follow up to Seize Prey. Imite rubs her body against her opponent to entice their carnal desires. Does 2 willpower damage and the opponent's next attempt at struggling will be done with disadvantage.

Enchanting Kiss - Imite whispers an incantation before moving in to softly kiss her opponent, the magic serving to mesmerize the victim with a feeling of warmth and comfort. Be it on the cheek, lips, or anywhere else, 3 willpower damage will be done and the opponent will be paralyzed.

Draining Kiss - Imite moves in and deeply kisses her opponent, forcing her tongue into her opponent's mouth and draining their energy to boost her own. Does 2 willpower damage, inflicts Bind, and restores her Stamina/Willpower (if applicable) by 1. The restoration will continue into subsequent turns for as long as the kiss is held, for up to 5 points restored. The victim must struggle free.

Breathtaking Kiss - Imite roughly kisses her opponent and, with a little air based magic, quite literally sucks the breath out of their lungs. While it will not suffocate the opponent, it will leave them quite winded. Does 2 willpower damage and the opponent cannot use any abilities that would require them to speak for 3 turns while they catch their breath.

Added her attacks in and gave her another ability. Might add more in the future. Little concerned that they might be a bit too hefty as is. I thought about giving her some stamina attacks, but given her mechanic, she'll likely have plenty of those with her form change.

Ooh, I like her. Especially that last attack—I can't really think of any other midara on here who has a literally breathtaking kiss.

Her shapeshifting abilities should serve her well in many RPs. Go get 'em, tiger!

Bump. Never really got around to finishing her, but I think I can still maintain her as a character regardless.
