Marlene vs. Brianna

The studious scholar, Marlene, found herself walking down the forest trail in search of new Midara to investigate and study. "I'll have to see what I can do with this little hair later.. maybe I'll be able to-" Marlene rants to herself about all sorts of ridiculous experiments that she can conduct.

Marlene's little rant helped her forget that she was having a hard time finding any good subjects for research today. The wolf was a lucky break (and quite the looker, too), but there wasn't much else going on in these woods. Yet, nothing seemed to be amiss apart from the relative lack of Midara.

"Hmm... This.. is honestly unusual. There are no midara.. apart from the sleeping wolfgirl... Did something happen? Are midara hunters running too wild?" Marlene thinks to herself as she continues her search, going deeper into the woods.

Still nothing, although there were signs of life here. Bushes and trees with their berries and fruit eaten, scratched up trunks, footprints and trails, parted foliage and trampled grass. Whatever the case, the Midara weren't showing themselves to Marlene.

"... Is it something I'm wearing? Did I somehow discover some sort of midara repellant? Hm..." Not really knowing what to do, Marlene sits down to take a small break, inspecting herself quickly, but inadvertently snoozing as the fatigue of walking around catches up to her.

Marlene's inspection found nothing that would reasonably be the cause of the Midara staying away from her, and she wasn't quite aware enough to realize someone approaching her. "Oh, are you okay, miss? This isn't the safest place to sleep." A soothing and doting voice graced her ears and woke her back up. All of sudden, the air around her felt a bit warmer.

Marlene looked up, slowly waking back up towards consciousness. "Wh- huh? I.. just one more minute.. mom..." The mage was half asleep and barely thinking, her head still in dreamland for the first few moments of wakefulness.

"Ffufufu, awwww, did you just call me mom? That's so cute~" The sweet voice said, giggling at Marlene's adorable, drowsy state. She didnt seem exactly opposed to the researcher's proposition, she was simply befuddled.

"Well... I suppose I'm not sure what I expected... I'll cuddle with you if you tell me all about yourself, okay? It's not everyday that you find a midara who doesn't immediately pounce on you..." Marlene sits back down, in the cowgirl's lap this time, as she opens up her book to begin asking questions.
