Spike vs Pash II(End)

"Hrmm..I could always see if the Professor could find a way to help you...I dunno, control your power better so you can do those things."

At her question, Spike halted, face scrunched in thought. "....I....don't know. I never even asked to do this...I only started because Specter trashed the Professor's lab, brainwashed my friend, and caused no end of mischief throughout time....And now, I'm still picking up the remnants...

Is there something I wanted to do? I would have loved to have the chance to grow up like a normal kid...As it is...I don't know. Settle down...Hang out with friends....There's a lot of stuff I want to do."

"Well, maybe one day there will be a cure for me, but I have learned not to hold my breath for one over the years."

"Ah, hanging out with friends? Well, that's what you are doing right now, no? I'm happy that I can be here for you to get to experience that one on your list. *giggle* That's right, Pash is the girl who makes all the boy's dreams come true."

"Ah, yes. Pash, the woman who's able to wrap anyone around her finger." A chuckle. "And Spike, the hero who's absolutely terrible around women. Truly, a friendship forged in the depths of insanity."

"Haha, awww, you say it as if those boys did not absolutely love being warped around my finger. As you well know, I take good care of those who *giggle* surrender to my charms."

"And you are not absolutely terrible around women. You were able to get me to hang out with you with just one phone call, no?"

"Oh? And am I one of those people who surrendered to your charms? Or am I just that good, that you can't even affect me?" A smirk at his little attempt at a challenge.

"And..Yes. I did. But I've been stumbling and stuttering quite a bit, I feel."

"Ummm, yeah, you totally gave in to me last time, or are you *giggle* selectively forgetting the part where sitting on you with my legs in your face."

"Eh, stumbling and stuttering is fine. I'm imagine you will get over it once you get it though your head that I'm not here to harm you in any way, so there is no need to be *giggle* scared of me."

"Mmm..Nah, I don't remember that. Besides, even if I did, pretty sure I'm a lot stronger now. I wouldn't fall that easily." A chuckle escaped the boy as he placed his hands within his pockets. Maybe he was tempting fate, but there was nothing wrong with having a little fun with his friends, right?

"Ah, well, it is a shame you can't remember that because you were in such a state of bliss. And while I have no doubt that you are stronger now, the face remains that I did not force myself on you, you asked me to *giggle* sit on you."

"G-Ghk!" He felt his face go bright red at the recollection. "Y-Yeah, well..I'm...Y-You got lucky." Sure she did, Spike. Suuuure she did.

"So I got lucky that you asked me to pin you down with my lovely body while you enjoyed the bliss of giving in to a sweet and loving gal like me, hmmmm?" Pash asked with a smug look on her face.

"Y-Yeah." Looking away, he puffed out his cheeks. He had his pride, dangit.

"*giggle* Well, I guess when you put it like that, I was pretty lucky. Do you think I might be getting lucky again in the near future~?"

Pash was now playfully learning her face into his.

As Spike finished his grumbling, he noticed that Pash had gotten..quite close. Slowly, he tried leaning away, face a bright red. "I...I dunno..Maybe? Maybe not?"

"*giggle* seeing you get all flustered like that is enough for me to consider myself a lucky girl today," said Pash as she moved back to a more acceptable distance.

"So, what would you like to do next? I picked the hamburgers, so now it is your turn to pick something. It's only fair, no?"

She was teasing him. He should have expected it, and yet....Here he was. Somewhat flustered. At her question, a thought came to him. "Well...Maybe they have some games? I could try and win you something. That's what guys do for pretty ladies during festivals, right?"

"Oooooo, now you are talking. My you have come a long way when it come to talking with girls *giggle* Alright, so what are you going to win for me?" she said as she took the last bite of her burger.

"Hrmm....Tell you what. I'll let you decide what you want. Just point me at it, and I'll try to win it."

"Ah, so generous of you~," said Pash as she started to look around.

Well, seeing as how this was a sports festival, there were really not a whole lot of booths with games, but not wanting to let a perfectly good opportunity go to waste, she persisted in scanning. Eventually, her eyes landed on someone who had set up some lawn darts with a target about 20 meters away. A dollar a throw, and if you hit the bullseye, you got a baseball cap.

"Oooo, over there, well, it really is the only place to win a prize, but still, that one," she said while pointing at the set up.

A festival without games felt pretty damn weird. But hey, at least Pash had found one, after all. And the prize, a cap. "Hrmm...I can imagine you with a baseball cap." Rummaging about in his pockets, he pulled out a crumpled up five dollar bill, handing it to the one in charge of the kiosk.

"Five shots...I should have a chance."

The vendor smiled as he handed Spike the five lawn darts. The target was a good 20 meters away, so this was not going to be that easy, nor was it supposed to be.

"Ooooo, this is exciting," said Pash as she watched him take the darts to the designated throwing square. She wondered if there was anything in his past that might help him out here. He did not seem to ever mention being on a sports team, but he did spend lots of time chasing and catching monkeys. Not quite throwing an object 20 meters with accuracy, but it was something nonetheless. It would be interesting to see what more she could learn about his admittedly unfair past by watching him throw.

But at the same time, she did not want to get all dramatic and ruin the happy occasion.

"Do it Spike! I'm rooting for you! That and I would like a new hat!"

"Well..It would look nice on you."

Taking the darts, Spike squinted at the target. It was certainly a good distance away. And he couldn't exactly use his slingshot. Though that brought up the question. He had shot so many things with his slingshot...How far away were they from him when he fired? Closer than this? Farther away?

"Welp...Time to see if all my adventuring helped my aim." With that, he began tossing the darts, one at a time.

[Spike has a 20% chance of hitting the target, must roll 80 or above]

Spike took hold of one of the lawn darts and looked off at the target. He then reeled his arm back and threw the dart. It soared through the air

Both Pash and the vendor were astonished. It was a practically perfect throw, and on his first try to boot. Pash then broke the silence

"Oh... wow, ummm.. Yay! Go Spike!," she said as she started clapping.

The vendor started clapping too, but now concerned that he was going to be five hats shorts in a few minutes.

"...."

Wow. Wow, he couldn't believe he managed to do that. "Huh...I think I got it down, then. Let's see how this plays out."

Reeling back once more, he chucked the darts, one right after the other.

[Spike's chances now increase 10% for knowing the feeling of a successful throw. He has a 30% chance of hitting the target]

Spike picks up the second dart, weighs it in his hand a little, and then gives it a throw, hoping to repeat his earlier success.

[30 - fail ]

The dart did not hit the target. In fact, it was not close at all.

"Ehhhh," said Pash. "Well, maybe it slipped out of your hand or something."

The vendor breathed a sigh of relief. Perhaps that first throw was just a fluke.

"Tch..." Another miss. "Alright, fine. I'll try again!" Another throw.
