Flynn vs Sonya

“I don’t understand why you are all on edge,” Flynn admits, “I’ve heard of your queen before, so I’m pretty sure she has enough power to take out that slime by herself if she wanted to.”

"Perhaps, but what of the people already taken?" Sonya said with a shake of her head. "Besides, our queen has been pushing for co-existence between man and midara. Even if its not the intent, an incident like this deals a serious blow to her efforts."

“I doubt capturing that slime will help get those people back, it didn’t seem like it was able to talk and bet it won’t lead you to them,” Flynn replies.

"What other options do we have?" Sonya asked with a defeated sounding sigh.

“Couldn’t you get any spies to follow, or have had Mei-Mei or Test follow it instead of fighting it,” Flynn pointed out.

"Our forces are rather thin. If we have any spies, I certainly know not of them." Sonya explained with a shake of her head. I doubt Mei-Mei wouldn't try to fight no matter what we ordered. My fellow knights and I, would struggle to hold back while the people in front of us our in danger."

“Maybe that’s why you don’t send someone battle hungry out for investigation,” Flynn sighed.

"Caring about what happens right in front of us makes us battle hungry?" Sonya asked, offended by the mage's words.

“I was more referring to Mei-Mei than you or Test,” Flynn replied.

Sonya just let out a sigh as she rubbed the bridge of her nose. "On that point, I'll concede."

“Really, whose bright idea was it to send her,” Flynn sighed.

"Again, our actual forces are rather sparse." Sonya told him. "Few stayed in service to the crown once the queen took over."

“And have you not tried recruiting? Or just straight up hiring mercenaries?” Flynn sighed.

"Sellswords want nothing to do with us. The queen is trying to make peace with midara, after all; and fighting midara has become a stable source of work for mercenaries. As for recruits, Mei-Mei is the only one in fight shape." the knight explained.

“Anything else hindering the kingdom from completing this one task?” Flynn sighed, having had higher expectations on this kingdom.

"Not that I'm aware of." Sonya told him with a shake of her head.

“I don’t know which one of you I would suggest this to, and I really don’t care, so I’ll tell you this. Just have your recruits learn curses, since even weak curses are still curses and you can just stack them to take down stronger opponents,” Flynn sighs, “Curses haven’t fail me yet.”

"Are you volunteering to teach?" the knight asked as she raised an eyebrow.

“If I’m paid the right price and the recruits aren’t a hassle to deal with, why not,” Flynn replies, “But curses are easy enough to be self taught if you have the right materials and are willing to test them on yourself.”

"I don't think most are willing to use a harmful magic they don't have a full grasp of on themselves." Sonya told him. "Would you care to perform a practical demonstration?" she asked as she drew her blade.


Flynn: 30 Willpower
Sonya: 30 Stamina

“I can give you a demonstration, just don’t complain about the pain afterward,” Flynn sighed as he formed his own weapon.

"Pain, I can deal with." Sonya said, even as she winced when his weapon slapped her across the face.

“Sure you can,” He sighs as he pulls the whip back and separated it into three balls of magic.

Sonya hefted her giant blade and charged. She powered through the first two shots of his volley, and both batted the last away and hit him with the flat side of her blade in the same swing.

“So I guess you can deal with the pain,” Flynn says as he steps back and tries messing with her vision.
