Cheri vs. Cupidity

Cheri had heard tales of a midara settlement. There were conflicting rumors about the place, some saying it was place where human's and midara lived in harmony, while others claimed that it was a human town the midara took over and enslaved all of its inhabitants.

The only thing the rumors agreed on is that it was called Cupidity and that it was located in the forest Cheri was currently in.

With it being close to where she currently was, Cheri decided to go look at it and see which rumors were true, and if the rumors of enslaving were the true ones, she would try to change that.

Eventually, the midara hunter came across a sign in the woods.


You are about to enter midara territory. Walking past this sign will be taken as consenting to being toyed with by any midara you encounter.

Just from this sign alone, it looked like the enslavement rumor was probably the true one, so Cheri took out her pistol and proceeded with cation.

Cheri made it to the town without incident. It was eerily quiet, with some buildings looking like they haven't been used in a long time.


Cheri: 30 Willpower

Ignoring the buildings that didn’t looked used, Cheri searched around town for any mirada, human, or building that appeared used.

"Well, well, what have we here?" a woman called out to Cheri.

The gunslinger turned to see a slender woman slither out of an alley. She had long blonde hair, slit eyes, and a forked tongue. At her waist, instead of legs, she had a tail that was covered in smooth, colorful scales and was long enough to wrap around a full-grown man over a dozen times. Her lips were naturally a bright purple.


Cheri: 30 Willpower + Mana Bullet
Nicole: 20 Stamina

“Just someone wanting to know about the activities of this village,” Cheri answered, looking the snake woman up and down, “You won’t feel like talking, would you?”

"Talking is boring." the naga replied and darted in to plant a kiss on Cheri's cheek, leaving a smear of the poison that naturally coated her lips behind.


Cheri: 29 Willpower + Mana Bullet + Poisoned(2)
Nicole: 20 Stamina

“I guess I’ll just make you talk afterwards then,” Cheri sighed as she pointed her pistol at the naga and fired a dark blue bullet at her.

Change to Ice Bullet —> Focused Fire

(Focused Fire -roll [73, 36]- Success! Freeze -roll 27- Fail!)
(Teasing Tail -roll 87- Crit Fail!)

The coldblooded woman let out a baneful hiss as the cold attack struck her.



Cheri: 28 Willpower + Ice Bullet + Poisoned(1)
Nicole: 19 Stamina

“If you answer my question, I’ll show mercy and not use these ice bullets,” Cheri informed the naga as she fired two more quickly.

Double Tap

(Double Tap -Auto, 94- Success and Crit Success! Freeze -roll 52, 59- Success!)

The naga didn't even get the chance to respond. The bullets struck her and a layer of ice quickly formed over her body.



Cheri: 27 Willpower + Ice Bullet
Nicole: 17 Stamina + Bound

Having no point on continuing to use her ice bullets, Cheri switched up her ammunition, firing a burst of green pellets at her now.

Change to Poison Bullet —> Scatter Shot

(Scatter Shot -roll 59- Fail!)
(Struggle -roll 1- Crit Fail!)

The burst of magical pellets struck the naga, but failed to piece the layer of ice around her.


Cheri: 27 Willpower + Ice Bullet
Nicole: 16 Stamina + Bound

Surprised at the thickness of the ice this time, Cheri tried to firing two bullets in the same spot to pierce it.

Double Tap

(Struggle -Auto due to Off Balance!)

Cheri pulled the trigger only to get an empty click. Somehow, her gun had jammed. In the time it took her to fix the problem, her opponent managed to escape her icy prison.



Cheri: 27 Willpower + Poison Bullet
Nicole: 16 Stamina

That was a new problem to Cheri, but she thought it should be fine unless it happened again, as she fired another green bullet at the naga.

Focused Fire

(Focused Fire -roll [72, 71]- Success! Poison -roll 88- Success!)
(Snake Wrap -roll 3- Crit Fail!)

The bullet pierced the naga's unscaled upper body and she recoiled in pain.



Cheri: 27 Willpower + Poison Bullet
Nicole: 15 Stamina + Poisoned(3) + Off Balance

Taking advantage of her recoil, Cheri switched up ammo again and laid on the fire, sending two heavier bullets at the naga.

Change to Earth Bullet —> Double Tap

(Hypnotic Gaze -roll 31- Fail!)

The naga hissed in pain as the first bullet struck her, but she managed to twist out of the way of the follow up shot.


Cheri: 27 Willpower + Earth Bullet
Nicole: 12 Stamina + Poisoned(2)

Cheri continued the barrage, firing pellets of her earth bullet that would be harder to twist her way around.

Scatter Shot

(Scatter Shot -roll 47- Fail!)
(Naga Necky -roll 28- Success!)

Despite Cheri's expectations, her opponent did manage to weave through the scattershot. The naga bit the human on the neck, smearing more poison onto her while also injecting her with additional venom.


Cheri: 25 Willpower + Earth Bullet + Poisoned(2) + Attack Down(2)
Nicole: 11 Stamina + Poisoned(1)

Seeing at the snake woman’s agility, Cheri decided she needed to get her still again, switch back over to her ice bullets and firing two of them at her.

Change to Ice Bullet —> Double Tap

(Double Tap -roll 60, 23- 1 Success and 1 Fail! Freeze -roll 74- Success!)
(Struggle -roll 83- Fail!)

Cheri fired her frozen bullets, but they were noticeably weaker then last time: one harmlessly plinking off the naga's scales before the other one managed to freeze her.
