The first tiny bit of hope Shae had was getting realized. Of the three projectiles he sent soaring towards Audrey, two of them found their mark, bopping her once on the head and against in the gut. She nearly doubled over from the impact, one more good move like that and the spar WOULD be over with Shae as the indisputable winner. The baker couldn't get any momentum going, and it was honestly a little frustrating.

Shae's strength did not fail him. Through all of the trials and tribulations that this encounter had forced him to overcome, the merchant did not falter when it counted. He tore his horns out of Audrey's hands and swung his staff wide, hitting Audrey in her midsection and knocking her down onto the bed. She landed on the covers with a cozy plop and grunted in defeat.

"Nnn... I... ow... okay, I give up.. you beat me." Audrey said, conceding victory at last. Shae had.... won! He may not have expected this result, but he seized it with his own hands.

As the battle drew to a close and victory became Shae’s, his body sagged with exhaustion. The adrenaline that had fueled his actions began to wane, leaving him feeling drained and in need of rest. With a weariness in his voice, he turned to Audrey and uttered, “I hope you don’t mind if I lay down.”

Without waiting for a response, Shae relinquished control over his fatigued body, allowing himself to collapse onto the softness of Audrey’s bed.

"Not at all.... I think we both need a nap." Audrey agreed as she let her body sink into the bed as well. The two of them lazily laid down next to each other before the baker had an idea. She turned onto her side and gently reached her arms out to Shae, giving him an incredibly soft and tender smile. "Wanna cuddle?"
